I bought my iPhone the second day it was released ... and I'm still using it ... and yes, at first AT&T service was very poor ... but soon the service here in Hawaii improved and now I have no complaints whatsoever. As far as Google is concerned, I wish them well. Nothing wrong with some healthy competition! Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my 24" iMac ... best computer I've ever had ... and my computer history dates back to DOS days! We've come a long ways since then ... can't help but wonder what things will be like in 20 years!
Apple vs. Microsoft Vista: The Ad Budget Wars [View article]
For several years I did database app programming and was tied into DOS and then Windows (95, 98, etc.) and while I liked my database platform (Paradox for DOS, Access for Windows) I became increasingly frustrated with the OS and its frequent crashing, usually resulting in having to rewrite at least some code. It seemed I couldn't back up frequently enough! When I was finishing the app, I read an announcement that Apple was coming out with OS X and that's when I switched to Mac. Oh happy day!!! My Windows nightmares ended ... Mac just did what it was supposed to do and did it well. MS can't even create a decent ad (in my opinion)!

Back in the days of DOS, I was doing database app work with Paradox for DOS ... then switched to MS Access under Windows 95/98. My argument FOR PCs then had to do with cpu power and multitasking. My argument AGAINST PCs had to do an unstabie operating system. Then OS X was introduced and a friend encouraged me to switch to Apple ... Oh happy day! Maybe given enough time and money, MS might get their OS code bug free... I wish them well.
Apple Imitations: Just Like the iPhone, Only Crappier [View article]
When I was doing database application programming with a PC, I made some pretty stupid sounding remarks about Apple ... but my Apple user friends were patient. "Some day you'll understand".
After my project finished, I switched to Apple's products. Now I make some pretty stupid remarks about PCs ... but my PC user friends are a little less than understanding.
Think I'll stay with Apple!! It's just more fun, less frustrating.
