  • Taking A Closer Look At BlackBerry's EZ Pass Program And BES10 Uptake [View article]
Ellas...who are these companies (and how many)? How did you come to be on such an intimate level with them? These companies knew nothing of Blackberry's offerings until you sent them a link? Also (among other solutions), who else are these companies looking at?

I am absolutely amazed at your inside knowledge but please help us all by provided a little more detail.

  • BlackBerry: It Is Hip To Be Square [View article]
Sir...The economic times newspaper is rectangular in shape as is all media....NOT square. If you shrink it by aspect ratio it would fit more suitably on a rectangular phone. No standard media offering will fit a square form factor.
BTW...I dont own an iPhone and I am not short BB as all my funds are in Apple, enjoying massive gains, a dividend and thats not very frustrating at all.

It is not my opinion that Blackberry has less than 1% market share. It is a fact. It is however, my opinion, that less than 1% market share means that people are NOT interested. Especially when said company once commanded 40%. You mention Apple 5 times in reply to my comments where Apple is not mentioned at all. Very strange and oddly telling.

  • BlackBerry: It Is Hip To Be Square [View article]
The Economic Times India is not square nor is any newspaper, monitor, television, movie screen, native app, magazine, piece of paper or any Media offering in the entire world. Blackberry is truly unique in calling this innovation. Equally unique to Blackberry is the use of the terms "Out of Stock' and 'Sold Out" as a spin on success. They should just use this metric at every quarterly earnings report. Chen "Everything we make is Sold Out" and lets just watch the stock soar!.
If the Passport were truly selling in any meaningful way, the Emperor Chen would not be able to contain himself. Transcend Asset, the much lauded Blackberry pundit used the term "Black Swan" to describe the "sold out" status of the Z30 a few months back inferring that the world is simply blind to its massive success as everywhere she looked it was .....er "Sold out". This nonsense (crap really) was greeted with cheers from the BB army here on SA. Most called her article brilliant.

Before the chorus of "My mother wheres army boots" starts, I do have an honest question for all BBers. Why would the biggest tech failure of all time (BB10), whose numbers, despite being less than 1% worldwide, continue to fall, suddenly reverse because it is now available in a square form? The Passport will fail and miserably too and Master Chen himself knows this hence the real reason for the "Sold Out and "Out of Stock"....he didnt build very many.

BB10 has been so completely rejected that not even the improvements in the OS and the addition of the amazon apps has made a blip on revenues. People are simply NOT interested.

...and don't forget the NEW Blackberry lament... "It was taken out of Context" alla everything John Chen says.

I'm sure this Headline will be the excuse as to why the Z3 didn't sell.

The adjectives "Struggling and Failing" are absolutely complimentary when describing a 4.4 billion loss in a single quarter. How dare those evil reporters
use such harsh language to describe our beloved Blackberry!

Oh Fantastic - Stickers" I was starting to be concerned for ole BB. Funny with the ridiculous Qwerty thing because, on further examination it is really the trackball and back button, that sets the "Classic apart from the failed Q10 . What the Heck(ll) is the touch screen for now (not to mention the gestures) now that they have their back button back. Wait a minute, this could be a new tag line to send the company soaring. Blackberry...We Got our Back Button Back. Pleaseeee Come Back!

You articulate better than me JoFergus. Any defense of Chens ineptitude on this initiative is laughable. Stop with the 30,000 have it employed...on trial and FREE yes, and still No comment from Chen on adoption rates. While Im at it, I can tell you with certainty that BB does not have 2.7 million in net cash (debentures..i.e. loans dont count). It is closer to 1 billion and that amounts to two quarters at the rate BB is burning the green (which will actually accelerate as it costs money to implement dreams, ifs and hopes. When the real Net cash runs out (not long) and they start spending Watsa'a loan with no way to pay it back...well, then the real fun begins! Chen will have 80 million, Watsa will recoup from the fire sale and the shareholders? Nothing.

Am I the only one who noticed the Blank Stare Chen offered when asked how many non-BlackBerry users your BES 10 systems are running now? His answer "I don’t know. I don’t have that number. Sorry about that. We’ll find that out and make sure that people get back to you".

Considering Enterprise (MDM) is the most important part of his new initiative you think he oughta know that kind of thing. Before the personal insults start to fly my way, I ask all BBrs to reply in earnest. What of the 30000 trial installs? Adoption rates? Nothing?

If they do not sell something, anything (except real estate & staff)...and quickly they will have no cash in 3 quarters.
