  • Commodity Carnage: Where to Turn Next? [View article]
oil.. can't live with it. or without it or so it seems. Well, US plight is making others a grip of cash and has been for a long time. Time for a solution :

OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel ass!!!
We in turn back off more on oil consumption.
    win/win

  • Time to Pull the Trigger on Four Oil Service Stocks [View article]
I too like the future prospects of Rig.. swimming in PBR right now and feel the need to hold back a little longer for either SLB or RIG to take a bit off... even though they are both creeping up. This market right now is very inconsistent. Tomorrow they both could be down. Not going to play day trader with my limited cash and commission fees.

  • USG Corp: Speculate With a Necessary Construction Material [View article]
It is a given that USG is a pin action for the likes of HD and LOW ( not to least mention the housing/re-modeling businesses) and with both being lower.. in this author's opinion, when you see any strength in those stocks or businesses, it is a good chance you will also see considerable upswing in USG. I am positively monitoring those markets as I feel when they do hit, it will be crucial to get in front of that curve. Disclaimer: I feel we are a bit out yet but anticipate the move.

  • Bottom Fishing - Cramer's Mad Money (8/8/08) [View article]
From what I have seen he tends to have an ogliopolistic persona and you see stocks ramp up a day or two after he mentions them on his show. I wonder, do the sellers of stock top fish ( puts) and sell off the way many bottom fish and buy? To his credit, he does mention do not buy for a few days cool off period.

  • T. Boone Pickens on Yahoo and the Price of Oil [View article]
I like you thinking Alamo. I am in that camp also. get us off foriegn dependence. I also fear the Saudis will increase pricing. They are going to get some more. I don't think we can do it fast enough. We are behind the eight ball and need to build our energy infrastructure out quick as possible. We have to get that shovel in the dirt. Much more than we have now. It will take time. It is our destiny to wean off foreign oil. It is here all resources exist and the technology to achieve is also right here on our soil. The world knows it. Boone will put up big dollars and that is the start. I am in full bore.

  • Wind's Our Future, but Natural Gas Is Now [View article]
    ok.
from what I see here many are on the right track. Love or hate Boone he will put up a grip of cash and he so far is the only whale willing to do it that I am aware of. Yup, he will profit but that is a later story. To focus and keep all eyes on this ball is most important. The latest witnessed by this author's eyes... a solar panel designed into the roof of a Prius driving down the road in front of me. So you have solar and the all wonderful electric car now on the street. The Nat gas play.. I like the gen plants to creat electricity to recharge as opposed to running on NG. Case in point the new Lexus. Power house of a car and efficient to the inth degree. I drove a NG car and power was waining.. in my opinion.
Now then the corridor for wind and how that plays into pattern changes? There will always be wind.. how much and where is going to be a goliath of research. Sure there is the pan handle corridor. (up through Texas into Oklahome etc...) How will the additional generation towers effect the environment and topography in that area. How many are we really taking about? USFS will have some data . Adiabatic diyurnals ( day to day over cycles) wind patterns will reveal useful information as to maybe where the best placement might be and what it means to the land. Remember light hands on the land? Forest service theory. Arch sights too. How about NIMBY groups through that channel or maybe those groups who would like a royalty for the use of their crop lands.
It is going to be tough to convert engines on trains a.k.a. CSX GWR BNI and the likes to anything but diesel which get great fuel milage vs. the alternatives. Is there an efficient alternative to those.. steam..again? I say drill off shore. I say get us off our dependence on foreign oil. How about Iran and many many leased VLCC from many Ocean tgransports just waiting for the moment to pounce and bring that sour crude to our ports into our markets. Remember the first time it happened? You may have heard this " never forget". Many may be too young but it happened.
I say become the country we all seek to be. Get the USA off dependency of energy. Most of all I say is there are many ways to go green even with the continued use of oil. Regen plants on diesels which burn over 65% particulates before exiting the exhaust pipe. That is one of many examples.
Cannot forget fertilizer/compost resevoir salvaged NG.. think WMI. How about switch grass/cellulose fed waste produced by sugar cane crops ethanol. how about ADM. No vegetable produced ethanol. Feed the people...and not to each other. Gov't says 20% by 2012? I think by 2015 we could be closer to 50% household to household with a total buy-in. The caveat is the gov't will also have to consider incentives never before seen.
Ok.. I am off my podium now anyone care to take this ball one step farther? I know I left things out.. these just came to mind.

  • Trading Psychology - Cramer's Mad Money (7/25/08) [View article]
stoat brings an interesting point. I am a small investor.. but i have a big heart!! truth is just starting out trying to keep that diversity is tough. Trading platform of 7 smackers per and trading and buying.. visa versa.. it adds up and the % has to increase or you cannot win. The stocks have to be more precise in gains to be successful. When he is buying hundreds I am buying tens. After a year of hit and miss I am finally getting enough homework done to be successful.. very slowly and a few dollars at a time. Just remembering to make it I have to do better than the buy and sell 7 dollar commish.

  • Slow Start for Lithium-ion Hybrids [View article]
this will take patience and flavored by probability. If you are patient enough it probably will happen.. eventually. NiMH will run its course then we most likely will ramp up on Lithium. SQM was sold off and the eye is not so keen on this oversold liviathon.

  • Dividend Yields Soar [View article]
oh..in closing. XTO, CHK, PK, and LINE are all dropping like hot rocks. A few days and there should be a soft bottom.. maybe a small surge, maybe a better than average surge. Hurricans and oil?? Nat gas may work again sooner than later. On the cyclical side, NDN and DLTR are ramping a bit.. school is coming and the bigger retailers may have a time with pricing. Following teachers and students concerns. Give them a look.
    good day

  • Dividend Yields Soar [View article]
Hanging in there on NAT. Sold off FRO for profit.. not relying on dividend alone and will pull the trigger again when it drops a few bucks. It will ramp up higher than last pull back...hence the pseudonym. Last in shipping will be SFL.. enough of the ocean shipping transports. Keeping T ,DD, NUE, KO and JNJ. MO and USB might be latest purchases then it's time to keep 5% on sidelines for awhile. Going to put ACAS on radar for a week then we will see.

  • Ship Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [View article]
I am hearing the registers ( notice I was plural) ring. I have NAT, until this mroning I played hard with FRO and will come back with a slight pull-back. If it drops one dollar I will pull the trigger again. I will also pounce on SFL possibly by week's end. There we will remain long. Though volatle as mentioned, very worthy dividends dancing on the backs of reduced share pricing.

  • Goldman: Nucor Sell-Off Overdone, Buy the Dips [View article]
I started my position today in NUE and will continue to add until year's end.. from theer we will see what happens. Dan (CEO of NUE) was on Mad Money last night and even with the market correction he was totally positive about the BRIC emerging markets..if you want to still call them emerging, ..particularly China and their quest to import all of NUE's product. That is just China!
I remain bullish on NUE.. they should not be down this far olr a better way to look at it , this cheap.. get some!

  • Excellent Stocks When (If) Oil Hits $150 [View article]
I did not recall any gold stocks. Current trends are up oil, up gold and at 949, I see another 25 run up coming if oil continues to ascend. That is unless ICE works with gold.
