  • How Boone Might Boost Energtek [View article]
I understand EGTK's CEO has been in discussion with Pickens about EGTK and what it is and what patents and contracts it has in the Phillippines and India, etc. This stock could EXPLODE to the upside if Pickens joint-ventured with it. That would certainly teach the world why it needs to pay attention to NG and it's uses and potentials.

  • Casino Stocks Could Be a Long Term Jackpot [View article]
Don't hold your breath.....casinos did what banks did recently, all went up in market mania. Most major banks are statisically insolvent, and all the major casino owners on the Strip are saying recovery is a long way off. They also realize the world must recover first.......the USA won't lead in that recoevery and won't be the catalyst for growth.

  • 5 Perverse Bailout Consequences [View article]
American history, if it gets to the core of REAL TRUTH, will have this Depression and all the crap within it go down as a condemnation of how corrupt our government, banks, and politicians really are. Don't point fingers at other countries, fellow Americans, we are the worst of the lot. When you analyze the smoke and mirrors accountancy of banks and brokerages, the hedge funds, the control of Congress and the Presidency by the real money company powers that be, the 1% money given to the banks to put out there to rape and pillage the unsuspecting public, the criminal works of AIG and Goldman Sachs, the forgiveness of mark-to-market compliance in order to make things look good for the real criminals out there......etc.....etc... country is totally sick. And the press and the TV networks.........they put out what they figure needs to be said to protect the power boys, not the truth. Look what CNBC did.....they took that infamous video of Dylan off the internet !! SICK.

  • Let's Keep Big Banks from Ruining America Forever [View article]
Wow...................... finally is standing up for America. Let the big banks and their criminals, all college-educated and the buddies of the Congressmen and women, go into the tank. I am all for stopping the bailouts, EVERY ONE OF THEM, and spend the money into smaller banks who didn't participate in this greed fraud that will go down in financial world history as the GREATEST shame upon American democracy and honesty and integrity. I am ashamed that we aren't arresting hundreds of these criminals as I write. THIEVES, one and all. They have labeled us in front of the entire world as a den of thieves. I am ashamed Obama condones all this through his ignorant actions, and I voted for him !! WAKE UP AND TAKE BACK THIS COUNTRY.........NOW !!!!!!!!

  • Wynn Resorts Shows Surprising Strength in Offering [View article]
Agreed. And gaming is sinking like a brick, month after month. Pit bosses elude to drops of up to 50% from months prior at MGM properties. When the public gets a gander at the real numbers in the next immediate quarter, they will understand MGM and Harrahs/Caesars and Stations bankruptcies. Harrahs should have already filed. $23 billion in debt and mounting.......my gawd !! Station has already filed. And Dubai/Infinity is waiting to pounce on a larger percentage control on Project CityCenter (MGM) as they will come up with some cash soon, or at least immediately after MGM files. I suspect the filing to be early May 2009. Just a guess. I think Dubai has played MGM all along. They are sharpies, for sure. Despite their own woes back home, they should prevail. Kirk is toast. After the incredibly dumb move on Ford as it was sinking, secured by sinking MGM shares, he is toast.

  • KB Homes: Terrible 4Q Earnings Blamed On Economy [View article]
Analysts in the industry say that a huge number of "name" builders will go to zero this year, 2009. The smart ones will fold tent now, they say, and sit it out for a year or two. They are telling us that CA-NV-AZ, for example, have another 20-30% to fall in resale properties, so that certainly doesn't bode well for new home sales, either. The unemployed, grossly indebted, and stock loss beaten back will not be buying even at 4% interest rates or less. New home building in most of the USA is toast. Of course, there are territorial exceptions, I'm sure, but I can't name one.

  • Real Unemployment Closer to 18%: Watch Those Long Positions [View article]
A millionnaire investor years ago told me you can take USA stats from the Feds on unemployment and figure the real numbers are about 1.7-2.0 times what is posted. He pointed out that many people who run out of benefits fall off the charts, and they go into a cash society to get by. In Northern California, where we both lived at the time, he siad the 7.3% unemployment in our local county was actually closer to 13-15%. I predict our "published rates" of unemployemnt hit 10% by next fall, and that will indicate closer to 20% in reality. Anything over 8%, folks, and we're in a Depression. Don't fool yourselves. Also, look for about 50% more bad news across the board from public companies before any good news comes out in this country. I predict at least 500-700 public companies will be in bankruptcy that aren't being thought of that way now in January by the time next Fall comes. 2009 stacks up to be a disaster. I've never seen anything like this in 70 years. It is real, it is here, and our bailouts and national debt are adding to the fire. By the way, I am 97% in cash, 3% invested (mostly shorts, I'm sorry to say). Pray for our new leadership.

  • Driven to Bankruptcy [View article]
Ford and GM are typical unionized organizations which have given in to rediculous demands over the past 30 years, always caving in to union demands to ward off strikes. The fact is that auto workers get double or triple what anyone else makes for comparable work, and they get premium retirement packages, great medical benefits, and they still cry for more. The reality of American life is that when the Indian and Chinese economies gear up and start producing high quality products at their wage levels, getting a taste of capitalism, they will blow away industrial America. Boeing is headed that way soon enough, when these countries atart building aircraft for world consumption. And the American companies will be vested in them........it'll be the only way they can make money in their own area of specialization as time goes by. We have pigeon-holed ourselves into a ditch overpaying labor to produce crap for too long. Look how Detroit begged off decent MPG ratings so they could continue to produce the only vehicles that made money.......big trucks and SUV's. And recall that GM continues to pay its laid off workers for months afterwards due to union concessions. We are gonna get ours in this country. We haven't the brains to compete, norr to use logic in how our companies function. It's a sorry state of affairs, to be sure.
