  • 3D Printing Debunked, Part 2: Industries [View article]
That's what I too want to know. I appreciate many of your insights because I find it ridiculous how this stock has run away, and is only now getting some slowing due to dawning realisation.

Yet I'm wondering what do you expect AFTER you get it for $30/share. If that's the fair value, how much profit could you seriously make, and based on what would you see that stock giving you a profit?

  • Gold Is Seasonal: When Is The Best Month To Buy? [View article]
I don't suppose this applies to the Gold miners as well. Since I stupidly bought SAND each time in September, the exact peak according to your charts. Only now finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

  • How Safe Are Silver Wheaton's Silver Streams? [View article]
Thanks, for me a very useful summary. It's hard to keep track of all the various agreements streaming companies have and you've laid it all out very nicely and simply here. I definitely think SLW is worth getting back into again but I'm looking for a lower entry point. Likewise for SAND. I share the same sentiments as Moon above: As prices drop SLW will still get less for the silver they are going to sell, and since having fixed price agreements is a double edged sword since they don't have the flexibility to pay less now. So margins are going to get compressed.

  • Arena Falls, Pulls Anti-Obesity Application In Europe [View article]
I suggest if you're still holding to that conspiracy theory which is completely baseless you'd better wake up fast. If indeed funds ever wanted ARNA at all in the way you describe you can bet they want it a lot less now after today's CC.

  • 2 Undervalued Mega Cap Cash Cows [View article]
The problem with assuming that any stock has negativity baked in already, is that the general market always has people waiting for that last straw. Many people keep saying that poor earnings next report have already been factored in. Well let me make a prediction: when the report comes out and if it is bad, you'll have another sell off. People aren't going to say, oh that's cool, this bad report was already factored in. Lots of people need just one more jolt to capitulate. They are those who are hoping that the report will be a positive surprise, and when they don't get it, they'll finally sell.

It doesn't matter how good AAPL is fundamentally. The market trades on emotions. And right now the trend is way, way South. You would have been better off waiting for the report which if negative, would let you purchase at even even lower price.

  • What China Should Do About The Gold Crash [View article]
Clear article as always and I followed your reasoning perfectly. However, I am a bit puzzled as to the purpose of the article. Forgive my ignorance, but it seems to be about telling the Chinese how to benefit from the current situation, at the expense of gold longs. Not that the Chinese government wouldn't already have thought of this but... Why would you do this?

  • Sandstorm Continues Its Growth, Stock Is Attractive [View article]
Thanks Chris. SLW is on my radar as well. I just added again to my SAND position, but am going to wait a while more before acting. I don't think this overreaction will correct soon given the downwards momentum and the volume of selling, but we'll see what we'll see, I suppose!

  • Sandstorm Continues Its Growth, Stock Is Attractive [View article]
Thanks Daniel, certainly appreciate any intelligent thoughts during this trying time. I thought it would have been priced in, however when lemmings jump off a cliff it's pretty hard to tell what would stem the purge. Current PM situation not helping too, which everything all been thrown out with the bathwater.

  • Sandstorm Continues Its Growth, Stock Is Attractive [View article]
Chris, would appreciate some quick thoughts on

    1. Do you think the Mongolia issue is just sabre rattling or is there a real danger that an agreement will NOT be reached, in which case I am not sure I see a bottom any time soon in terms of price

    2. Slightly off topic, what do you think of SLW now? It's the lowest it's been in quite a while.

In both cases I don't want to catch a falling knife but my instinct says it may be worth setting some cash ready to average down.

  • Market recap: Stocks closed well off lows during the final hour, but the S&P still logged its worst week of the year, pressured by a weak March jobless report which, combined with other data earlier this week, seems to confirm fears of a very sluggish recovery. Networking stocks were big losers due to F5's guidance, but techs generally were weak. Investors flocked to safe-haven Treasurys, where yields hit YTD lows[View news story]
I find myself wondering... on the back of so many pieces of negative news all in one week, with people still buying on the dips on quite decent volume... just WHAT will cause a correction?

And corollary to that is, when something finally causes people to realise things aren't hunky dory, prices are going to fall, and hard. I like prices going up as much as any other person, but I almost fainted when the markets closed off their session lows in what I would have expected, at any other similar circumstance in the last two decades, to have triggered off at least a few more days of selling off.

Kudos to you Spencer. You provide an honest and clinically sound answer instead of hawking Belviq just because you are long ARNA.

  • "High above the Alps my Gnome is hearing a rumor that Apple will announce a stock split at tomorrow's shareholder meeting," tweets Doug Kass. The rumor has led Apple (AAPL +1%) shares to spike higher. Update (2:24 PM): Kass is using the post-rumor spike to sell part of his trading position in Apple. [View news story]
Ah... but are you profiting from your OWN rumour like he has?

Isn't what he did blatant manipulation and illegal?

  • Sandstorm Gold's CEO Discusses Q4 2012 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
Agreed. Also I'm wondering how come SA didn't send out a simple summary of results, beats/ fails like they usually do with all the other stocks after earnings report. It's hard to decipher which parts are good or now. Ah well, I guess looking at the price change, the markets have spoken.
