Aaron has worked in top tier investment banks and been published or quoted in many major newspapers, magazines, and financial journals including Risk magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Barron’s. He is well respected by his family, friends, colleagues, and clients on both personal and professional levels. He is highly driven and focused on succeeding, and also maintains the highest level of integrity in his endeavors. Aaron has a long track record of achievements both in academia and the investment business. Aaron attended University of Florida where he earned bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and statistics, and then a master’s degree in applied mathematics. He joined the proprietary trading desk at William R Hough and Co., a Florida investment bank, where he performed quantitative research on stock trading strategies. Inspired by the profitable application of mathematics to investing, Aaron returned to University of Florida to work on a PhD in mathematical finance. After completing his PhD, Aaron joined JP Morgan in New York, working in their highly regarded risk management department. He soon transferred to London to work in research so that he could better leverage his previous experience. After helping to build their initial equity derivatives research product in Europe, he was recruited by Barclays Capital to create and run a global research platform for their equity business. While building this platform, Aaron developed a personal interest in investing and became fascinated with many of the great investors of our time (eg, Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Sir John Templeton, etc). He noticed that most of them relied on a common strategy: value investing. Aaron enrolled in London Business School’s executive program for financial accounting and analysis to better his own knowledge in this area. He then started another research team at Barclays Capital focused on the development of value based investment strategies. Seeing the potential to offer these services directly to clients without inflated fees, Aaron decided to pursue this effort and established Aaron Brask Capital, LLC.
