Cliff, sorry for the delayed reply. Shippers are paid in USD and all charter rates are listed in USD.
Given that no dry bulker shows any adjustments/losses/gains for exchange rate implies that they are not hedging against fx. They pay dividends in USD. We will need to check what percentage of expenses are in non-USD currencies. Will get back on this. Thanks

Firstly, Fed is buying Agency MBS. Secondly, itys not the flattening of yield curve alone. Rather, you need to look at long term rates vs MBS rates. This spread is most important (flattening of yield curve does depress margins but the key is where is MBS-Treasury rate). We are publishing a detailed review of which mREITs will be least affected by Fed's QE3. We will compare pre-payments rates, exposure to agency/non-agency and fixed/variable rate securities, dividend coverage ratio and sensitivities to see which mREITS have the highest cushion against a further drop in net interest margins.

Thank you ahouseoforange for your comments.
AIG's average book value over the past five years is $260 per share, while the average price to book value over the same time period is 0.48 times. If the stock approaches its 5 year averages by the time the warrants expire, we can expect the stock price to be at around $125 per share. Even in that case the warrants provide an excellent opportunity for investors. However, one should also look for the discounted valuations to go away and can trade near book value.

Yes if you are looking for dividend income, K is a stock to consider. However, the margins have declined and valuation is a bit on the high side, so best to wait for a better entry point in case you are looking for capital appreciation.
We will do another report to see if K can offer dividend growth as well. Thanks

Thanks for your opinion on the stock. We can’t take negative earnings of 3.19 to calculate average earnings, primarily because of one time line items are included in it. Here is another problem with your calculation, if we assume that negative earnings of $0.22 is correct , then after multiplying it with the growth rate of 177%, it comes out to be positive, not negative.
