  • Pimco "stewardship" rating cut by Morningstar  [View news story]
It's not a discussion, it's postings on a website that are often done with the intent of making an impression on readers.

Now you, who doesn't know me from Adam, is trying to tell me on a web post to venture outside of my narrow minded existence? That's the kind of stuff that makes people think of NY'ers as aggressive, reactive, and ill-tempered.

Which is one of the several reasons I moved out of NY after 50 years of having to constantly kick people's butts. Capisce?

Well, Seeking Alpha is an investment website. The posts here are largely personality and behavior criiticisms of PIMCO and Bill Gross by people who a) have an axe to grind, and/or b) need an outlet for their criticisms so they can achieve some kind of recognition as investment "gurus".

What purpose is served by this pack attack mentality? Don't like PIMCO? Move your money elsewhere. Be stealthy and silent about it. Or, if one wants to be a "guru", post one's advice on Seeking Alpha's pages. Then wait a year - or less - for the NY'ers to try to rip you a new one on Seeking Alpha. Prepare for the zings and QUESTIONS to try to ferret out your monetary ideas, and to get you into a public argument on Seeking Alpha. Because, after all, they're NY'ers. That's what they do.

More non-quantitative social commentary on a business topic, augmented by social and personality comments from readers and subscribers. Sounds like the Democrat Party has wangled its way in.

  • Sell Gross, Buy El-Erian? I'll Take The Other Side Of That Trade  [View article]
Spot on. Bill Gross is the performance achiever here, the rocket scientist of bond fund investing. He - not El-Erian - is why thousands of people are in PIMCO. Bill Grosss is PIMCO. Dynamic vs static and it is nolo contendre.

  • Intel Concedes Defeat  [View article]
What's Nathan's prediction for the stock price 12 months, 24 months out then . . . put some numbers to it so readers can go back and judge how good your assessment is . . vague, indefinite, and imprecise doesn't work with securities which are, ultimately, a numbers game.

  • Apple Dumping Intel In The MacBook? Don't Believe This Bogus Rumor  [View article]
Thank you Ashraf - and 6M - and Fidgewinkle - for the scientific insider's knowledge in your comments. I am an Apple and Intel investor. There are so many worn and fuzzy people posting as Apple fans and probably shareholders that opinion without real knowledge behind it gets too widely circulated. After reading your article/comments I have a much better idea on what this issue is all about.

  • Where was this story 50% ago? Its cover showing a tombstone engraved "R.I.P. PC," Barron's says DELL and H-P (HPQ) will fade from view. Next up for trouble could be Microsoft (MSFT), seemingly cheap at 9X 2013 earnings, but which reported sales at its Windows unit off by a third Y/Y after backing out pre-sales for Windows 8. The world awaits the launch of Surface at midnight on Friday. More winners/losers here[View news story]
Barron's. Making cuckolds of all its readers. How the smug money got that way. Late and lame, behind the curve in the game. To put it another way, the patient is terminal, so now they give their diagnosis.

  • Intel: Replacing The Stock In Case Of A Market Decline  [View article]
Quote from the article: "The only benefit to owning the stock right now is the 3.40% dividend yield and upside price expectations that could be possible."

Wow. He says "the only benefit' and then gives TWO reasons to own the stock. That AND a sell recommendation. Wow. Nuclear Physics from an options trader. And once again, the reactor core blows up.

Disclosure: I have no business relationship with Wolf Option Trading, and no plans to initiate one with the next 72 hours. Or any time after that.

  • Does Big Oil's Apathy Justify Proposals to Tax Windfall Profits?  [View article]
Another example of a socialist leaning minority member working in the securities industry trying to first convince us he's a capitalist, then going for bigger and more government programs and initiatives. It's all about social policy and government with this guy, not free markets or capitalism. It's all about getting his left-leaning viewpoint to influence tax policy. The government has no business taking more money from any one industry or company than it does from another, despite Saxena's attempted justification. I think he should get out of the capitalist securities business and go into a socialist leaning profession like education since that's what he thinks his position on Seeking Alpha is all about.
