  • AT&T: The (Apple) Brand Destroyer [View article]
This article seems sort of bipolar. It seems to flip-flop between praise and criticism of Apple. I'm so confused, <sigh>. I also don't see where the (alleged) issue of exploding iPhones is relevant in the article. In fact, I've never heard of it and have had my device since day 1 as well.

If anything, fault Apple for not acquiring their own segment of the radio spectrum auctioned a couple years ago. That would have been their chance to really go it alone w/o business parner compromises.

  • Storm vs. iPhone: Both Have Issues [View article]
    1) What makes up your $100/month bill ? Just curious.

    2) Did you have issues with AT&T's service or truly with the iPhone ? You're not comparing Apples to Apples. You're comparing AT&T Service with the Storm's usability.

To be fair to Apple your headline should be "Storm vs. AT&T Service: Both Have Issues." -- But then you wouldn't get as many people reading your pointless blog.

  • Nine Bailout Surprises from GM and Chrysler [View article]
So, a couple of questions: 1) Name at least two of the "many analysts" who think Ford "will end up asking for nearly as much federal aid as GM". Your statement as-is is unfounded/uncited. 2) When was the last time a consumer bought steel and whether or not the company was in CH11 was a concern of theirs in that transaction. 3) Any comparison of an auto manufacturer to an airline under CH11 is absurd. An airline doesn't need to support an exchange of goods/services beyond the transaction date, whereas a manufacturer has an understood commitment to provide ongoing assistance. A $199 flight vs. a $35,000 machine - not even in the same ballpark.

  • Share Buybacks Make Apple Sweeter [View article]
    1) What does buying back stock have to do with creating innovative, high-margin products ? Gee, which do you think is their ~real~ business.

    2) For that matter, what does stock price have to do with Apple products ? I'm fairly certain they're equally competent to produce whether at $1 or $1000. You think they give a rip how high it can go like Google ?

    3) It would seem that at the moment holding CASH is a better proposition than most kinds of investments.

    4) Cash is good for buying things. RIMM's Mkt Cap is about 25-26 mil.

    5) Wouldn't a war chest be used in times of battle ? Is there some threat Apple is facing we're not aware of that would require them to tap it ?

  • 6 Things Apple's Not Doing Right [View article]
Have you lost your mind ? Recording off FM ? Do you really think Apple would make a device allowing you to pilfer music like that ? And FM ? That's so in the past.
WRT Pystar, why can't Apple protect their intellectual and physical capital ? And how can antitrust hold up against a company that has developed and created it's own market and goods ?
Regarding iPods, do you recall how Classic Coke came about ?
So tell us, what does "the end" look like for Apple in a year-1/2 ?
Very strange and unfounded opinions expressed in this article.

  • The Irrational Preoccupation with Apple's Guidance [View article]
Why should Apple care about it's stock price ? They can make cash and put it in the bank the same whether it's $5 or $500 per share. What we as investors buy and sell Apple stock for I contend has NO bearing on their performance and their capability to make good stuff or crap. Their only connection to stock price I would assume would be when it comes to employee stock options -- but with billions of dollars on hand I don't think they're looking for stock appreciation as their primary compensation mechanism. Back to my point, someone tell me what Apple does differently with their stock price at $100? at $250? at $165? What does it matter to them ?

  • iPhone App Store to Launch by Friday [View article]
bbzz24, the apps will work on pre-3G phone as well as iTouch. However, I would think there will be a major firmware upgrade released via iTunes just before the Store opens to enable them on the current devices.
