What I know agrees with experienced's comments - the 3G version of GSM is WCDMA. In that case, there should be more adoption of CDMA in the next two years, not more GSM adoption. The author's statement that CDMA carriers are thinking of switching to GSM doesn't make sense to me - Why wouldn't they switch to WCDMA (a 3G tech) instead? As I understand it, GSM is 2G. However I don't work in the industry, so please correct if my info is incorrect.
