Why Did Adelstein Reverse His Position on the SIRI-XM Merger? [View article]
Let's get this deal done and move on with the lawsuits and investigations. Most of the U.S. Government is corrupt in one way or another. This has come by adjusting the original constitution as was needed and adding departments and commisions as times may have required. It is now time to correct the corrections. Go back to step one and rewrite to todays standards. Make government officials responsible for their actions and and not let unqualified, corrupt officials remain in power. Do a time study as to what is being done with tax money and have time restraints to decision making. At this time we can go to war overnight, but making a simple decision about radio takes a year and a half. France, (I know..It's France) just approved rewritting their constitution to bring it up to date. Why in this modern world do we have to have people with their hands in someone elses pockets making decisions for taxpayers? Enter all the data into a computer and let it spit out some answers that at least have some logic behind them. As much time as this is taking, it could have been voted on by the public. We would have had less forked tounge debates from Sat Radio and Terres Radio then we have from those seeking a vote this November. The Boston Tea Party was a wakeup call. What do we need now? Common Sense would be a great start.

OK, Sirus bows to the FCC and gets the merger done. Then they can screw around for a couple years attemppting to comply to the FCC's demands and keep telling them that the solution is just around the corner, maybe the end of this month or next month at the latest. If the FCC has a problem with that.......well they set the guidlines for prcrastination.

Where were these requirments when negotiations were being done? The team is on the one yard line and all of a sudden an extra 30 yards has been added to the field. Does Adelstein expect Sirus to expand services and develope new technology with their hands tied behind their backs for 6 years. It's time for much of government to take a look at what they are doing to free enterprise. Maybe Sirus and XM should just work together behind closed doors and offer a combined radio service that could be profitable and let the crooked politicians find another cow to milk.

We all have a vote is true, but the people that you have a choice of voting for are all politicians, not businessmen or businesswomen. Therefore your vote is wasted if you want someone that can make a decision without seeing what political personal ramifications it will have 10 or 20 years down the road. If government was run as a corporation........wel... first the termination line should be a very long one. Another Boston Tea Party is needed and that should be visible to the existing politicians, but the graft is blinding them. Why go forward when standing still, or even going backwards, is so much easier and pays the same. We need decision makers, not life time dwellers that are just waiting for their bowels to move them. I for one would vote for a non politician with a good business background. OH, I did, but Ross was defeted before he could even run. The USA is going downhill fast and I don't see anyone capable of putting the brakes on. After 9/11, that ass, Bin Laden said that the plan was to take down the USA by ruining it financially. Was no one listening or were the politicians so far up on their pedistals with their heads up their butts to understand. Oh, the FCC is as corrupt as any. Fire them all and get a couple homeless crackheads to run the organization. The outcome couldn't be any worse and even a crackhead can nod yes or shake his head no without checking with with the political Gods.
