If Chrysler does not survive (the likely outcome here), then NO Chrysler dealer will survive - at least not by selling non existent Chrysler products. These dealers need to try to hook up with other auto manufacturers as quickly as possible if they want to stay in business.
Not only is the American consumer's spend-spend mindset changing but their actual financial ability to continue their profligate spending habits has been seriously comprimised. With our surging unemployment and under employment, the average family's income has fallen. Add to that the maxing out of credit cards and virtual elimination of home refinancing and the sources of funds for spending have effectively disappeared for a large percentage of the population. Consumerism will no longer drive this economy.
