  • Apple updates MacBook Pros, cuts prices [View news story]
Well maybe if you would know how to use a Windows PC and need to use serious business software, then you would use a Windows PC. Typing this from a Macbook with Windows 8.1

  • Apple beats EPS estimates, but guides light [View news story]
I concede more importance to the beat on iPhone since it has a more important fashion-item component than macs, so it suffers more its periodical changes IMO

  • Apple roundup: iPhone 6 orders, U.S. Mac sales, Apple TV, TSMC [View news story]
I don't understand de post-pc era thing. I bought a retina macbook pro some weeks ago and I haven't used my ipad air since. It's nice to have a good keyboard and an always clean screen, and the battery lasts quite as long, so I don't see the need for a tablet in general, just for very few situations like extreme portability need. I think this is a pure fashion thing and they are only interesting for ancient people, children and no computer educated public above all.

  • Tesla tumbles on big drop in Norway sales [View news story]
All people who wanted Teslas in Norway already have a Tesla, it's that simple. It's a very small country, and Tesla only sells one model.

  • A Tale Of Unbridled Optimism [View article]
The fact you compare the iwatch with the swatch group demonstrates you are being shortsighted or you just want to acumulate clicks. If something it won't be, is a watch. Any speculation about the economic impact of this thing is so obviously and tremendously absurd since we don't know what it is, what it can do and its price and margin, that it is just a hoax on purpose.

  • Equity Research Analysts Covering Apple Hit The Bulls-Eye! [View article]
Analysts just amplify market movements. If the stocks goes up they give you a higher price target. If it goes down they give you a lower price target. The only difference is the time they need to accept an embarrasement after a big mistake. Now they are waiting again for the market to see its reaction to new apple news. Then they will change their price targets like after the last earnings in which the market reacted way before the analysts changed their targets. Having achieved the price target (the one from the big firms, not the one from the small look at me analysts) does not imply anything. Today last year analysts were saying apple was worth 400usd. I don't think the company has become 50% better has it?? If a goldman sachs' analysts had said hey the price target was at least 700 LIKE icahn (and me) said with his (and my) money then I would be taking off my hat right now. If someone is good at predicting market movements he would be buying and getting rich and not writing notes and working as an average employee for a bank, it's the same old song.

  • Why iWatch Can Outshine iPhone, But Will Not Become Apple's Flagship [View article]
I think a liquidmetal case is not possible under 700 ASP at least... the omega planet ocean uses liquidmetal, even considering it has maybe a 40% margin and the cost of the ETA based movement and other parts is low due to the high production levels among the swatch group although the production is much lower than the one predicted for the iwatch ... it's like 4000USD list price.... no way you can create a well machined liquidmetal watch even at 1000 USD with apple margins I think...

  • Why iWatch Can Outshine iPhone, But Will Not Become Apple's Flagship [View article]
I hope it's either more expensive or without watch shape. Why? Because I, and a lot of people like me, won't be changing my hublot big bang, panerai luminor 1950... ( call it patek, breguet, rolex or whatever...) for this in that case. I could use both if it has a bracelet shape or use it alone (the iwatch) from time to time if it's very nice looking and has high quality materials. That can't be done with a 200 ASP and will exclude a lot of high level buyers needlessly

You don't need to spend 2x or 1x the market cap in order to double the market cap. In a theorical situation it could be done with 1200 usd alone. That point is childish. It's all about sentiment and it can perfectly be done

  • Is Apple Inc. Headed To New All Time Highs? [View instapost]
They are entering into one if not several new product lines, they increased the dividend and the buyback. They sold a bunch of iphones even when their screen size would have made any other 700+ usd phone just a joke, and now they will provide a generally desired size. Maybe you don't realize this because you are in the US but in a lot of places like Europe and China people actually pay the full price, via cash or payment plan, and use to like big screens... Hell, $AAPL should go at least near 150$ post split before february.

I can not see a single thing an honest (not short interested panic creator) investor could dislike about this company, very likely future growth+value+dividend+low valuation+expensive market... Come on..

  • Tesla: Wait For $140-150 To Buy [View article]
The problem with this company is that the share as an object is much much much more valuable than the share as a concept of company's wealth division... You say 200$ is a good price for the share as an object, maybe... and 2000$ could be a good price also, why not, it is just a hoax. As a division of the company's wealth and future, 100$ would be very very optimistic

It is a great car, but it's a bad product for their business since they don't and won't make significant money, simple as that. They need to make money, and that's why they need a cheaper car. All the things you say just probe it's a good symbol or advertising. Lexus lives because of Toyota, and even so, they have 40k € cars. The BMW i8 will be more quite everything than the model S, it's just marketing, BUT they also sell the i3. Making a good car is not that hard. Making a good car company IS very hard. In fact, the last one founded independently was probably Porsche, go figure...
