  • Is It Time To Take Profits In Consumer Discretionary Stocks? [View article]
Among the stocks mentioned, Fossil is one that is quite a bit over-extended and bubblish. I've sold FOSL and gone into AAPL (which seems to be well under even its reasonable projected two year cash value.)

  • Don't Trade Apple, Treat The Stock As An Investment [View article]
Apple is, indeed, due for a pullback from $610. But Apple has a hearing problem in that respect and is not listening to anyone who says it should pullback and stay put while pulled back.

For investment purposes of any significant time frame of more than a few days or weeks, to buy Apple at any price below $642 will pay off handsomely after Apple penetrates that $642 level and makes another series of quantum leaps to arrive above $700.

  • With A Strong Financial Position, Diana Shipping In Good Position To Weather The Storm [View article]
Another consideration regarding Diana Shipping is the China factor. The China factor gave Apple its big boost in the most recent quarter.

Diana Shipping may also receive a big boost from China, because China wants Diana Shipping to succeed and is offering financing at the most competitive rates available in the world, to Diana Shipping.

  • Apple Shares Are Undervalued By Over 50% [View article]
Let's compare Apple's stock price to BRK.A (Berkshire Hathaway, Class A) which pays no dividend and which is, like Apple, split-averse even after reaching its current price of slightly less than $120,000 per share.

Let's only consider one element of each stock, its price/earnings ratio at this very instantaneous moment, from one of many sources of stock quotes (E*Trade, in this case): BRK.A has a P/E of 19.3 and AAPL has a P/E of 13.5.

For AAPL to have a P/E the same as BRK.A has, its price would have to rise to about $790 per share.

Look at other stocks which are trading at much loftier P/E's than that of either of these two venerable examples... but which are much less venerable than either Berkshire Hathaway or Apple and do the same exercise.

Does it stimulate you to scratch your head in bemused wonder?

  • Why I Will Not Be Listening To Apple's Earnings Call Live [View article]
I would not have made the comment, if the title of your article had been in reference to Rogers Communications instead of Apple. After reading your article, it did not really seem to rate having the word Apple in its title, except for the purpose of doing the same thing some websites do to try to improve their search engine rankings, by mentioning topics that are currently most popular, though actually irrelevant to the focus and purpose of the website.

My comment was an expression, as emotionless as possible, during a string of days loaded with emotion, suspense and much verbal sparring and clashing of swords of logic by bulls versus bears... of my first and immediate impression upon reading your article.

You (and each of us, with our writings) do indeed "move stocks," in a slightly leveraged version of "the butterfly effect."

  • Apple Shares Are Undervalued By Over 50% [View article]
Anybody who views Apple as a "momentum" play is greatly mistaken. It is a "the market was caught off guard and is trying hard to catch up" play. The market is breathlessly trying to catch up.

But Apple's stock price valuation is seriously undervalued at current prices, as far as "play" goes.

  • Apple: Why It's Not Too Late To Buy [View article]
Since PZ has a position in May 700 calls and a price target of $720 for Apple... that must mean his time frame for the $720 price target is less than 3 weeks from today. Why not? I agree with the articles which say, in one way or another, that Apple is "cheap" at "any" price. By "any" price, I mean... any price in its history, up to and including its most recent high of $641+.

When will Apple start to make a decisive push higher, toward a quick arrival at $720? Answer: when the 6 in its current 3 digit price is followed by the Answer To The Ultimate Question.

Of course, anybody who has read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy will know what that answer is.

Should you trade AAPL now, trying to catch its ups and downs? Or should you follow the advice of Jesse Livermore, who said, ""After spending many years in Wall Street and after making and losing millions of dollars I want to tell you this: It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight!"

I think berniespear is referring to doing the opposite of the bearish sheep, not the bullish sheep.

  • Will You Trade Apple Earnings Like Warren Buffett Traded Burlington Northern? [View article]
Judging by the after hours action in Apple, up to $598 and still going strong as I view the real-time Time & Sales.... your shorts must be a little messy by now?

  • 28 Big Reasons Apple Will Fall: A Rebuttal [View article]
The author's point of view is confirmed after-hours by Apple rocketing from its closing price of $560.64, to 570... 580... 590... 594... as I sit here and watch the Time & Sales.

Score another round for the Bulls.

  • Is Apple Worth 2 Microsofts? [View article]
I have used Microsoft operating systems and software since the late 1980s. From those earliest times, through Windows 98, I spoke with my Apple-using-friends against Apple and in favor of Microsoft as a computing platform. (Yes, we have always remained friends and the arguments of Apple vs Microsoft did not tarnish the friendship).

But rather than buy yet another computer, so I could use one of the next operating systems after Windows 98, I hung on to W98 and read about Windows 2000, Millenium and XP... Then, I bought an iMac with OS X.

It took a couple days to get off the " training wheels" of calling my Apple friends for trivial advice I could have looked up on my own. Since that time that I've switched to a Mac, I've never looked back. I had to experience it, to believe it... OS X is a much superior operating system and the experience of using the iPhone with IOS doesn't have me grumbling about it, like my wife grumbles about her Android phone.

Is AAPL worth two MSFT? Yep, and much more than two.

Interesting, to read that a technician would argue his bearish viewpoint, not from the chart, moving averages, and his choice of indicators, but rather from a fundamentalist point of view. Let the Bulls vs Bears struggle continue!

  • Pull Apple Out Of The Bargain Bin [View article]
A common sense article which anybody who has ever done any shopping can understand.

Some have asserted that Tim Cook "is no Steve Jobs" and therefore THAT is negative for Apple. But it was Steve Jobs who singled out Tim Cook and THAT is very positive and grounds for rational faith in the positive results Tim Cook will bring, quarter-by-quarter, year-by-year, for Apple.

  • Why I Will Not Be Listening To Apple's Earnings Call Live [View article]
A clever way of promoting the author's long positions in BCE, RCI, and VZ, by riding on the current suspense about and popularity of AAPL.

But... though a person read every article published about Apple, the "proof is in the pudding" of the much-awaited earnings report and there is just about as much to be gained from watching a countdown clock until the release of the report, as in reading articles like this.
