  • Q4 Will Show Just How Stagnant Apple Earnings Really Are [View article]
I have no skin in the AAPL game but like reading the short articles to then read the long's back wash responses. AAPL stock is down since the roll out if no one has noticed....

  • Positives Mounting For Beaten Down Micron [View article]
mmtache - your comments make no sense given fact no one knows what the Samsung fab would/will manufacture by the build out date projected. Demand for memory projected to nearly double by 2017 and assuming Samsung completes this fab build out, do you know as a fact it will compete directly with MU primary cash cow of Dram? A PE (2015 forward now single digit PE) does mean MU is undervalued, MU generating super FCF and being long MU I am supposed to worry about 2017 future date of a fab yet to know it's own destiny?

  • As You Can See, The Semiconductor Risk Materialized [View article]
I think MCHP announcement like fishing on the bank with a broken reel and no line only to say there are no fish left in the river, nothing is biting any longer. Fly shops then to close doors because there are apparently no fish and somehow the fishermen believe the end is near. Amazing to me what a single (misleading) company announcement can trigger. Long INTC and MU

I don't own any apple products nor its shares but enjoy reading posts. Seems all the comments, author's and the threads, are about facts no one yet knows for sure but everyone thinks they do

  • Should Citrix Be In Your Portfolio? [View article]
While Citrix may compete with Microsoft they also partner together. VMWare is main worry. I always find it a stretch to put anything into articles that an author has no position in, long or short. I bought earlier this year in mid 50's a d just sold so was lucky in some timing, placed proceeds in INTC

Russ, A8 v Haswell transistor counting and what math is used, is this apple/oranges argument, what/who is one to believe?

Thx for your work and articles and generating the discussions that follow for all us (at least me) dummies.

  • 'A New Order Of Things' - Micron's Challenge And Opportunity (Part 1) [View article]
William, thanks and look forward to Part 2. IYO Will 9/25 earnings be better then expected and support the memory supply pinch position you and others argue for or will the recent DRAM over supply side pundits (thus lower DRAM prices and margins) be shown to be correct and missed earnings benchmarks as a result? Why the share price whack today? long MU since mid2013

  • Intel: Low Valuation And Good Growth Prospects [View article]
Russ, could the after hour or end of day buying you describe just be INTC buying back their own shares as expected, especially if tied to any "Something big coming" possibility and thus cheaper buyback bang for the buck?

  • Why Qualcomm Greatly Outperforms Intel As An Investment In The Technology Industry [View article]
Michael, thanks for time and effort of article but when author(s) have no skin in the game of the subject equity being discussed it is hard for me to give credence and not otherwise wonder why an opinion is being offered.

  • Why Warren Buffett Keeps Away From Companies Like SanDisk [View article]
I believe you are preposterous in your claim SNDK "will instantly be obsolesced" when a RRAM or a new technology is introduced, essentially over night as you hype - I guess you just turn the on switch and presto it is all over for SNDK and other leaders in NAND.... So why are you not short SNDK then? I always get my laugh of the day with all these predictor boys that have no skin in the game to back their comments.

No effect on my SA user process with this change. I log in daily directly to S.A. and click directly to interested articles/authors I follow. I don't use S.A. email alerts either as no need when I am already viewing what I want to see each day. Any way to get more $$ into hands of authors contributing their expertise I see as a positive move

  • Fortescue Metals - One Of The World's Largest Iron Ore Producers [View article]
Been in FSUMF for many years - long. With Iron ore price swings, Aussie dollar swings it is always a roller coaster. It is all about China where all product is going. Article omits recent order of 4 cargo carriers that will (2015) lower C1 costs a bit more when received and placed in rotation at Port Hedley. If iron ore prices cab creep up you have a good upside period coming in the stock. Can probably buy a bit lower with some patience. BIG competition in Pilbara with the biggie producers already near double this new production level of FSUMF. Finally, Aussie politics and tax laws (and any proposed changes to higher rates when Aussie economy lousy and politicians looking for $$) play huge on price swings too
