Just changed my mind. Sirius is NOT here to stay. I am a avid listener of H. Stern and this is really bad new for Sirius Investors. I'm usually not this bipolar but I didn't take my meds today.

buying these calls is a safe bet since, in either case, you could just buy the shares if the stock falls, sell the contracts if the stock goes up, or sell back the shares at a premium. Seems like a win win to me if you know anything about calls. They are December calls too so that's even less risky.
And buying the CALLS on the down gets you a better contract price with better chance of profit.

And Marco thanks for the suggestion on Siri. I might just buy some of those monday to mitigate loss if that occurs. Might even get at a better contract price if Siri is down Monday. We'll see.

CFA, maybe you're spending too much time and money at Micky Dee's or even Starbucks for that matter. It's hard to imagine that listening to SatRad while driving is contributing to our health problems. Maybe watching too much TV would be a better example. I hope you were joking and not that irrational.

Oh Yeah...last year etrade did approx 2.2B in revenue. In the first quarter this year they did almost one billion revenue...Do the math, they will be cash positive in the near future and the market will act favorably to etrades trade value.

If etrade was going to file bankruptsy I think they would have done this when they were the most vulnerable, back in October 2007. They are expected by analyst to be cash flow positive in 2009 and with the sale of non-core assets they are going in that direction maybe even sooner than the conservative analyst predict.

Jimbo Goodwin.....E-trade going bankrupt?... Have you even been following the news..Yes bigger banks have gone bankrupt but they carry a substantially larger mortgage portfolio than etrade. Plus E-trades core business is in the upswing. Maybe i'm wrong but I think E-trade will be a turn-around success story for 2009.
