I am Howard Klein, Publisher and Publisher of THE HOUSE EDGE casino investment site on SA.
For 30 years I held senior vp and exec VP positions in major casino hotel operations among them Caesars, Ballys, Trump Taj Mahal and have done extensive consulting assignments for many others in the US, including the native American property Mohegan Sun, in Connecticut.
I have also done special projects for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I was the founder and publisher of Gaming Business Magazine, first ever publication covering the gaming industry and have written extensively about the industry. My two books are presently sold as
Kindle ebooks on the Amazon site:
MASTERING THE ART OF CASINO MANAGEMENT and
THE GREAT AMERICAN CASINO BAZAAR.
I have appeared on industry seminar panels and on national radio and television discussing
various aspects of industry growth.
I am a graduate of NYU's Stern School of Business and did work toward a Master's degree in economics
at the Columbia School of General Studies.
MY INVESTMENT STRATEGY:
Due to the necessities of my casino consulting business which encompasses many top gaming companies, I have placed my own gaming portfolio into a blind trust over ten years ago. At that time I instructed my money manager(who is a former industry colleague herself as well as a corporate lawyer and money manager) to follow my gaming investment strategy along these lines.
1. I am a value investor first. Knowing the industry in depth I am able to plumb opportunities and problems others cannot see. Mostly I like to identify price ranges over given periods where I believe the market is asleep and I can buy in at the lowest possible risk.
2. I am a strong believer in management quality. Knowing so many top people in the industry allows me to evaluate which ones I believe have the "right stuff" to move a stock and which are populated by corporate drones.
3. I have instructed my manager never to trade on sugar high spikes in earnings or news per se but use the "string theory" I have developed which in brief, follows a skein of news and earnings releases over set periods of time for each stock and then move in or out.
4. I have instructed her to keep the portfolio diverse with holdings in four basic areas: Casino stocks in Las Vegas, Macau and the regionals, gaming tech stocks with real moats not just cute apps.
Overall I have done immensely well and share my views with SA readers and more specifically with strong recommendations and gaming stock strategy analysis based on my network of industry contacts for subscribers to my SA Premium Site: THE HOUSE EDGE.

I am a market enthusiast and part-time trader. I started writing for Seeking Alpha in 2011, and it has been a tremendous opportunity and learning experience. I have been interested in the markets since elementary school, and hope to pursue a career in the investment management industry. I have been active in the markets for several years, and am primarily focused on long/short equities.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lehigh University, where I double majored in Finance and Accounting, with a minor in History. My major track focused on Investments and Financial Analysis. While at Lehigh, I was the Head Portfolio Manager of the Investment Management Group, a student group that manages three portfolios, one long/short and two long only. I have had two internships, one a summer internship at a large bank, and another helping to manage the Lehigh University Endowment for nearly a year.

Rocco Pendola is an associate editor at Seeking Alpha focusing on technology and the sectors it overlaps with.
In addition to technology, I am interested in dividend growth and income investing.
I make references to music I'm obsessed with (e.g., Old 97s, Elliott Smith, Bruce Springsteen) in my writing. If you notice any of these references, it makes me happy.
As an investor, I look to acquire long-term, common-stock holdings in businesses that will grow book value over time at a price that can allow this growth to translate into an adequate return on investment.
I prefer management to make sound economic decisions, particularly around capital allocation, rather than game accounting reports to meet analyst expectations.
I am more concerned by the potential for permanent loss of capital, arising from deterioration in business fundamentals or poor management decisions, than quotation risk; as such, I pay detailed attention to company reports and no attention to technical studies of the stock price.

Analyst and Fund Manager with almost 20 years investment experience. Coverage includes a variety of industries, with a focus on technology.
Particularly focused on value stocks, poorly understood or under-followed situations, and contrarian perspectives.
Primarily invest in special situations with value that is poorly understood or not fully appreciated, or where we believe there is a highly asymetric risk/reward profile. Also look for long/short ideas in mid/larger cap names where we believe we have a variant view, and the market is dramatically mispricing value.

Steven Bulwa is an investment analyst with a focus on new developments in science, technology and medicine and the companies poised to benefit. He has contributed to TheStreet.com, Realmoney.com and SeekingAlpha.com, BusinessInsider.com, Mediaite.com and HuffingtonPost.com among others. Steven has actively followed developments in technology for over 20 years, working with a scientific advisory board to validate potential investments. Early in his career, as a musician and recording engineer, Steven recognized the importance of the shift from analog to digital recording. This inspired his first stock investment in a company providing hardware and software solutions to television news providers converting to a digital video environment. The success of this investment inspired Steven to continue to delve into yet-to-be recognized investment opportunities in technology. While writing for thestreet.com in 2006, Steven was one of the first analysts to identify the explosive investment opportunity of 3D Printing. At the time he wrote articles about Stratasys(SSYS) and 3D Systems(DDD). Steven's picks like Nuvasive(NUVA) were also featured on Jim Cramer's Mad Money on CNBC. He has also acted as a consultant to companies looking to acquire new technologies including nanotechnology.
A practical investor, Steven also called the demise of the housing and mortgage markets after listening to one of Ben Bernanke’s early testimonies while simultaneously learning of Bank of America’s efforts to proactively renegotiate troubled home loans. In our capitalist economy, companies only renegotiate out of desperation, trouble was obviously coming!
Technology now evolves so rapidly that there are always great new technology companies with tremendous growth potential to invest in. Big cap tech's strongest growth is past, Steve wants to help you invest in tomorrow’s Apple,Google, or Microsoft.
