  • Why I Would Not Bet on iPhone over Android [View article]
I think there is a lot of truth to the concept of Google being a better challenge to Apple's upper tier clients than Microsoft. But there are many who will not want to expose themselves to an open market, not because they lack adventurousness, but because they like things that integrate (almost) flawlessly. I do not see Google's approach challenging the seamless interoperability of Apple products for the tech elite at any time.

BTW I just went to the Google store to check it out and when I clicked on "apps" it took me to T-shirts and buttons. Not an impressive start.

  • Google's FCC Response Directly Contradicts Apple on Google Voice Rejection [View article]
Apple always seems to pull its cloak and dagger bullsh*t. I love the company and products but cannot stand the legal tactics.

  • Microsoft: Whistling in the Dark [View article]
All the tech companies serve as shells for people to work, and develop products. Whether its Microsoft, Supersoft, Apple, Orangetech, or Discwidgets, they will all scream their sound and fury. Microsoft could not have killed Apple, or they would have been much more vulnerable to a breakup by the Just-ice League of Americans.

Ballmer is the perfect CEO for the failing MS. Jobs is the perfect CEO for the Enigmatic Apple. Where is Fake Steve when you need him. His insights are so much more poignant and witty than most.

Microsoft is definitely on the ropes. Google will most likely astound us with a MS crusher, sooner than later. The desktop is almost fully outdated. Google will swoop in with a killer mini-OS that runs on a tablet, a phone, and an office monitor with a little CPU in it.

The hard lifting will be done in the tiny gadgets or sent to the cloud to be processed gratis by GOOG's monsterous mega stack.

People who want things to be extra nice will still pay Jobso a fat premium just to be treated nicely and have the hot shiznit on the block.

    What Microsoft?

  • Why the FCC Wants to Smash Open the iPhone [View article]
I like the exclusivity of a system that works. If that means it isn't open to apps that exploit it as a dumb pipe, then I am for not having those apps. The network is over-loaded as it is. I don't want the Gov't to force open the system so that kiddies can exploit it with their crap.
