Wal-Mart: Can Marketing Influence Share Price? [view article]
Four years ago (and ever prior to that) , WMT was over $60. The 34% increase is based on its low point one year ago, which is below what it normally runs. In the last 7 years there was been little price appreciation but earnings have grown. The PE has gone from 40 about 7 years ago to less than 20 now. A few years ago, the stock had a P/E of over 40 and was selling for over $60. I'm not so sure that $56 a share with a P/E of under 20 is over-valued. Jul 15 12:08 PM
