  • What's an American Car These Days? [View article]
    Most of these companies trade on international stock markets, so profits and wealth creation (or destruction) go to shareholders worldwide. Half of the dividends that I recieve are from foreign companies.

    Hey Peakoiler, can you name one tangible accomplishment of Obama that makes you believe he can solve all the world's problems? Did he make major, or even minor, improvements in South Chicago? Of course not. How is he going to "heal the planet and lower ocean levels" if he couldn't heal Chicago or lower the Great Lakes. It is sad that Americans are so fixated on celebrity and rhetoric that they don't require any evidence of accomplishment or ability.

  • How to Navigate the Troubled Auto Industry - Barron's Interview [View article]
    Why do we still discuss the US auto industry as the so-called Big 3? Honda, Toyota, Hyandai, BMW, and others, also manufacture here in the US. I would guess there are more employees working for those manufacturers than the Big 3.
