D.G. Geis writes from Medina, Texas. He has a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Houston and an M.A. in Humanities [Philosophy] from California State University Dominguez Hills. He also holds a Licentiate in Philosophy.. He is retired from the investment management business, having worked some 25 years as an investment manager and RIA at Union Bank of Switzerland. Post UBS, he served eight years (concurrently) as Private Trustee of a $350MM+ management trust and as the President/ General Manager of a Private Investment Partnership. He has also served as a NYSE arbitrator. He currently resides on a small 150-acre ranch in the Hill Country of Central Texas. He is now happily retired from the investment business but continues to manage his own portfolios as well as various family trusts. He has a special interest in the application of Pascalian reasoning and risk analysis to investor behavior. He is primarily oriented towards value investing.
