Law of Supply & Demand Is Dead for Gold & Silver

Thanks for the post, I know very little about governmental manipulation but would not be surprised if something of this sort happened. In Jan 2008, I put $22K into a gold mutual fund (Toqueville) but the value has dropped to $14.5K since then. I'm mystified why this happened, but am optimistic the price will revert soon with people seeking a haven from fiat currency.
