still playing the "no flash" game ? even adobe has surrendered mobile flash efforts.

most websites are already HTML5 or tablet-compatible. those still living in the dinosaur age of Flash (or even VRML) deserves to lose business for failing to adopt to the new normal.

iPad 3 a fail ? guess you've never used a retina screen in your life

if high res screens are worthless, all those Android copycats must be totally drinking kool-aid by pushing by 300-400+ ppi displays to compete with AAPL

and the point of selling a USD 100 unlocked phone is .... ? pure market share grab even if the sale is a loss-leader ?

remind me how well the Kindle Fire is doing to Amazon's bottom line ?

are you the same camp of analysts who also wrote articles about "why apple needs a netbook" ?

Nokia and Symbian had 20+% global smartphone share, primarily selling cheapo devices to emerging and 3rd world markets. That share imploded literally overnight.

Android is the new Symbian, and Samsung is the new Nokia.

Maybe you should write another article "Why Porsche needs a $10K vehicle to compete with Kia"

  • Why Google Should Be Scared Of Siri [View article]
very well said. the abstraction of the manual process of choosing the right app, accessing the right website, and inputing the proper search terms is definitely killing google on the long run.

EVERY google system is a loss leader to serve you desktop ads and mobile ads. Apple is very clever in a way of bypassing google search without ever having to create a search engine - just leveraging existing best knowledge out there.

it's reported that something like 50-70% of mobile searches come from iOS. imagine if the BULK of those disappear within a year or two thanks to Siri - google's entire mobile strategy is finished (after dumping $12B on MMI while only making $3.2B on its record quarter).

google's dumbest move ever was to spend money developing Android while earning nothing from it (while iOS continues to dominate mobile usage despite smaller market share) if MSFT pays Apple enough to switch the default search engine to Bing, GOOG would drop 10% minimum.

  • Is Apple Mania Warranted? [View article]
this article keeps forgetting that Apple clears $25-30B of revenue and $6B in actual profits every quarter. that's a solid business model, not some hyped up Dot-com 2.0 stock. combine that with zero debt, and you'll see why the stock is actually for the value-investor.

ps : Apple clears more quarterly profit than either Google or Microsoft.
