  • PALM: Ready to Break Out? [View article]
of course, 500k in the first month automatically translates to 6 million a year, it's simple multiplication after all!!

Last time I checked, there was no word from PALM or Sprint on sales, yet the number sold in the first month grows exponentially every day.

"Revenue performance in the quarter was also positively impacted by the strong domestic and international carrier interest in the Web OS platform"

Could someone explain to me how revenue performance was positively impacted by domestic and international carrier interest in Web OS? This statement makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. How do derive revenue from potential customer interest? Do you even read what you write? Did it just "sound good" to you? Just when you think you've read it all on Seeking Alpha.

yeah, and how did rimm get there? by innovating? or by buy one get one free for the last two months....and get another free one from etrade....and get 40% off a storm before the buy one get one from Amazon...free here, free there, free everywhere...
and apple has one phone, no discounts, and look where they are...

imagine if apple actually comes out with products across several price demographics?

they're like weathermen, no ever really holds them accountable for their calls, so they just write a bunch of BS day after day and then proclaim victory when they finally get one right..

speaking of margin pressure, how's his great call on RIMM going with all their BOGO blackberry promotions?

  • Palm: Dead Company Walking [View article]
    apple funded?

dude, the phone does a few things different than an iphone...you think 18 million people are going to jump ship to sprint based on that? In this economy? the pricing structure isn;t even out yet...the phone hasn't even been truly "tested' re: speed of loading etc...in fact, the phone isn;t even out yet...
where are all these new customers going to come from? rimm? the g1? apple? current palm customers?

the authoru basically states in a nut shell, that even if it is a great phone, which it is, one or two things that separtate it from the cp,etition aren't a big deal...not everyone needs the fastest and the multitasking, othwise everyone would be flying around in a lamborghini or better yet a plane on auto-pilot. Gimme a break, the phone has a lot of hype built in...hype doesn't pay the bills and palm a management obviously doesn;t have the best record handling cash when they do see it...apple is a brand....huge with the younger generation....and expenanding daily...palm, if anything will compete in enterprise with rimm....not a time in the country to have the lastest and the greatest "just because'...besides...ask ANY kid what they want and it's apple.....errr...brand.

wow Jim feeding his ego with positive feedback on a negative article during one of the most negative periods in history...lol...ral tough to there jimbo.

give the people what they want Jim then call yourself a prophet.

btw...markets were down 40% if you were long...in an era of eft's, utlra short eft's ultra short indexes and the idea of shorting stocks to wealth in every article of every business rag and every financial website for the last six months, the only people dowm 40% are the passive investors...the ones not reading the drivel on this site everyday anyway. Everyone else is minting money, there's never been a better time in the history of the stock market to throw darts at a list of stocks and short them. nothing immune, every short is making money.

get off your doomsday soapbox and go hug your kids, you know, the ones who will inherit a third world country in a few years.
