Palm: Despite Upbeat Results, Challenges Up Ahead [View article]
"Revenue performance in the quarter was also positively impacted by the strong domestic and international carrier interest in the Web OS platform"
Could someone explain to me how revenue performance was positively impacted by domestic and international carrier interest in Web OS? This statement makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. How do derive revenue from potential customer interest? Do you even read what you write? Did it just "sound good" to you? Just when you think you've read it all on Seeking Alpha.
dude, the phone does a few things different than an iphone...you think 18 million people are going to jump ship to sprint based on that? In this economy? the pricing structure isn;t even out yet...the phone hasn't even been truly "tested' re: speed of loading etc...in fact, the phone isn;t even out yet... where are all these new customers going to come from? rimm? the g1? apple? current palm customers?
the authoru basically states in a nut shell, that even if it is a great phone, which it is, one or two things that separtate it from the cp,etition aren't a big deal...not everyone needs the fastest and the multitasking, othwise everyone would be flying around in a lamborghini or better yet a plane on auto-pilot. Gimme a break, the phone has a lot of hype built in...hype doesn't pay the bills and palm a management obviously doesn;t have the best record handling cash when they do see it...apple is a brand....huge with the younger generation....and expenanding daily...palm, if anything will compete in enterprise with rimm....not a time in the country to have the lastest and the greatest "just because'...besides...ask ANY kid what they want and it's apple.....errr...brand.
This one is even worse, two peas in a pod. How many short sentences can you fit into an online article, anyway? I think this guy's going for the record.
