Good article. It sure is nice to have someone talk about the possible positives out there, instead of the same old the sky is falling speech. The govenment is doing everything in its power to create a very lucrative earnings enviornment for the banks.

nothing wrong with shorting stocks it keeps valuations where they belong and stocks are meant to trade. You don't just get on the roller coaster ride and take it straight to the moon. The long traders would love this idea. Naked short selling is not what brought banking stocks down anyway. The banks got greedy and stupid and brought our economy with them for the ride. The banks have issues and you as a long traders should look at the low forward pe on these stocks and take the oppurtunity to push the shorts off these stocks because good old uncle sam is coming to the rescue!

jim in virgina, interesting comment! The sooner everyone realize how crooked the system is the better! That is why I actively trade stocks. Buy and hold trading is lazy and doen't make your money compound as quickly. Most people in this country trust the fox in the chicken pen and turn there money over to 401k's. Think about how much more productive people would be if they learned about investing and played both sides of the coin in the market. Then it doesn't matter which way it is going. Going up, go long! Going down, go short! Sounds easy, but takes a lot of learning and schooling on the technicals of the market and most people would rather trust someone else with there hard earned money. NOT ME! System is to crooked! The big boys just made a killing on shorting this market! Now it is time to play long! Especially on the next big dip!
hey doubleeagle! Where are you getting your info about world steel demand slowing. You are dead wrong! I happen to work for ussteel and the demand worldwide is so strong it is outstripping supply, which is giving our company great pricing power. We will report massive earinings this quarter and upward guidance for the next quarter. I can't give you any more detail than that, but go ahead and put your money in these bankrupt banks. You people that think these banks are going to turn things around soon because analysts were off on there estimates are blind. Go look at analysts estimates. Historically they are always exaggerated to the down side if a sector is doing poorly.
