  • Ag Secretary Defends Ethanol [View article]
This is another classic example of the corporate control of the Republican Party. Clearly ADM has long been a lobby greaser for the Ag Department as it favored
all the industrialization of a core food component. Now corn sweetener is one of the classic examples of corporate crap - it has flooded obesity across the world through drinks that have only damaging impacts on human bodies, not to mention brains.

  • The Greatest Short Sale in History [View article]
Most commentators seem to be locked inside the country. Outside the country there is one major move that could be financially helpful. Immediately cut back military spending in Iraq and pull out significant numbers of troops over the next nine months. In addition, there needs to be better political oversight of lobbying by the Defense Industry - or the Offense Industry as I call it - to limit future war promotions by this politically connected industry.

  • The Economic Cost of the Military Industrial Complex [View article]
This is a classic example of how all political activity in the United States is shaped by corporate interests. Yes it is called the Defense Industry, but in reality it is an Offense Industry. It lobbies the Pentagon and key politicians to promote war for America in order to generate greater revenues and profits for the major players.

The fact that hundreds of billions of dollars get spent outside the USA on offense means that not nearly enough money gets spent on the decaying infrastructure in America, on declining education and health care quality for the benefit of all American citizens.

The fact that America has an electoral system dependent entirely on private funding means that the corporate world will continue to control both political parties and that a necessary large cut in military spending will never happen and that only the corporate world will profit going forward, not American citizens.

  • Another American Money Pit: Infrastructure [View article]
This is the classic evidence of a country that is largely controlled by corporate interests. Much of federal money is spent annually on the military, farm subsidies, health care, pharmaceuticals etc. - all to make large profits for the corporate players and to provide almost nothing for the country's infrastructure or its citizens. Is this a real democracy when corporate interests control both political parties through private political financing?
