  • Has eBay Reached the Limit of the Network Effect? [View article]
Although this company has some strong points, and I was at first rather positive about their outlook, I've come to the conclusion that this company and their management lack any credibility at all.

They seem completely unable to make and commit to positive long term initiatives for change, largely because they don't have a good idea of the exact impact of their actions.

This is a very difficult, and sad situation, but the end of ebay seems to have begun in earnest.

  • eBay: Sum of the Parts [View article]
    Solid analysis.

The core marketplace business, and more specifically, ebay.com, may have some issues at the moment, but overall this company makes a ton of cash, paypal has very solid growth, and skype adds more users in a week than vonage ever has.

When people are fearful it's time to get greedy, and market sentiment can change quickly.

  • PayPal Merchant Service Major Source of Growth for eBay [View article]
Merchant service growth is strong indeed, but still limited to online.

Mobile payment solutions is a huge potential market for paypal. Check out their new iPhone app which allows payment to any paypal account on the go.

Dominating mobile payment solutions opens all offline purchase volume to paypal from vending machines to retail stores. Huge growth potential.
