  • EXCO Resources: A Big First Step Towards Debt Restructuring - A Mixed Bag For Stockholders  [View article]
I have followed XCO for years. BG skewered them by holding them in Shale Gas well passed the Shale Oil window. Be careful who you pick as a major cash partner!

If DPM shows weakness by lowering their Distribution then I expect the share price to find bottom below $10/share in 2016. If they hold the Distribution flat then their leadership remains exemplary!

    Greenbow,

Agreed! However, more pain likely in the Upstream and Midstream through 2016. Putin is now in the Mideast and the Saudis are on his radar screen, so Oil will be headed higher sooner than later. Looks like we are tucking our tails and preparing to run?

    Mr. Beckworth,

I present a counterpoint in agrarian analogy to your plea for better capitalism:

If Saudi Arabia had all the pigs the world needed and America decided to grow their own pigs, would it make capitalistic sense to continue buying Saudi Arabia's pigs?

  • Oil borrowing bases cut just 2% so far, Jefferies says  [View news story]
    neo,

We are only a year into the decimation of the domestic upstream. Us eternal optimists hope the worst of the bad news from impairments is disclosed by January. So, speculation has more terribly bad news for shareholders/bondholders yet to come. The Bankers have known it for most of this year and don't you know they already have their exits planned.

This is the saying going around the Private Equity Groups: "The over levered Upstream is in between a rock and a hard place. And they are looking for anybody to take their place." Private Equity is currently sacking up the Upstream fringes for pennies on the dollar.

There will be a time when Bankers agree to take Private Equity's pennies for the original dollars lent.

Oh yeah, Bondholders, like Shareholders, are usually toast. That means a fraction of a penny or not even a penny for them.
