  • Protected Principal Retirement Strategy: Will Apple Ever Become A Dividend Portfolio Candidate? [View article]
    Hank,

Quit pouting over Enron and Eastman Kodak. Don't blame Ralph for your own investing missteps. Write an article on AAPL if you your brain box has that capacity. Ralph is a Friend to many and his Articles worthy!!

Personally, GOOG's my pick, next time under $900.

    Banksnot,

You are wearing us out, such a Chatty Cathy! It always troubles me when someone, as you are, speaks for the Author as if you want accolade. Time for a little R&R away from the asylum.

Long LEI thanks to Josh's Article.

  • Fly Leasing Likely To Fall Further [View article]
FLY is likely an acquisitional target and if so, the price is now greater than before the Capital Raise. Again, the tangible news is the near 100% Inventory Leased and yesterday's commitment to pay their Dividend to the newly issued shares. Who wants to Short that?

WTI/Brent expected to fall later this year and if so, Jet Fuel will fall too. This should excite Leasing Opportunities for FLY.

It is a gamble David and betting the Dont's at Bernanke's Wallstreet Crap Table may be the bet, but not mine!

    Sorry David,

Your Buying opportunity was last Friday. FLY's Lease Rates, Lease Volume and CONTINUED Dividend to ALL the new shares issued keep me Long.

I do hope Ireland continues to EXEMPT the FLY Dividend!?

Who knows Bankstocks? This is Bernanke's Market, so much manipulation and the Domestic Oil Shale Plays remain the HOTTEST Investment Sector. LEI is a fly on a bulls back and could be gobbled up if mutually agreeable terms are reached.

I love to Gamble on Ben's Crap Table, while he holds the dice. I am on the Line with full odds back. Your dissenting positions to are akin to betting the Don't's, while the table is hot, UG!!

Tell us where YOU are making money and join the POSITIVE side?

Great time to follow up on FLY, TAL and GORO as Bernanke cranked the presses up, AGAIN. FLY really is becoming interesting at this Capital Raise!

    Jrookie,

Mr. or Ms. bankstocks held uranium a bit to long and close, cooked that brain box and he/she glows now?

Josh has been a great author and is responsive to most commenters, even those wannabe activists as we see here.

LEI is the record title holder of Oil, Gas & Mineral Leases in the hottest Shale Oil Play in Texas and I expect LEI will prosper, so to their Stock Holders.

    My Gamble!

I listen to a few Wealth Managers and MSFT is on their BUY List. It is too hard to have a credible argument with such an ability to GROW FREE CASH FLOW.

We do own and are buying more MSFT.

  • Ponzi Or MLP? Linn Energy's Unsustainable Distributions [View article]
    Commenters and Authors,

MLP's are a GREAT way to avoid Federal Taxation. The Bright Lights in the MLP Space are those able to acquire assets as rapidly as possible, MONETIZE those assets, Leverage the Assets and do it again, again and again. This process can occur at such a rapid pace as NO third party Accounting Firm can assure ALL IS WELL, but they do. If I were running the Rapidly Acquiring Model of the MLP like I ran/managed the Family Limited Partnership then I would want the HIGHEST VALUE I could Buy to gain the maximum effect in the Monetizing. I would hope my Bankers would LEND the maximum (Loan amount, Longest Term and Lowest interest rate) on the acquired assets. I would do whatever possible to at least maintain the Distributions to the Unit Holders (Stock Holders).
    1) If the Cost of Borrowed Money started to rise I would Sweat.
    2) If the Value of the Acquired Assets was reduced by the Independent Outside Auditors and my Lenders called for more Collateral Value, I would Sweat.
    3) If I had to turn my focus from Acquiring to a Defensive Posture due to any Forensic Audit by a State or Federal Agency, I would Sweat.

I would be relying on my Staff to keep the MLP on the Acquisition/Monetizing path and hope the Operational Profit from the Total of the Assets would rise.

Those of us that have RUN/MANAGED such Companies know too well the pitfalls from missteps and how unforgiving the Banks, Investors and even Employees can be. The Banks and Employees are usually the FIRST to Know, the Investors are the LAST to know.

By the time the STATE and or Federal Agencies render their opinions, the VALUE of the Public Units/Shares have been decimated.

The STOP/LOSS Sell is the Insurance for us, as Investors/Unit Holders, have to use, IF WE WILL. The Dust will settle and we can Buy back in or be glad the STOP/LOSS was tripped?

The MLP Management Team must regain composure and Focus on their Aggressive Acquisitional/Maximum Monetizing Model and hope and pray the BANKER's TERMS remain supportive of, at least, a flat Distribution. There are ALWAYS Assets available for Acquiring by Sellers willing to collect a Premium on their Assets.

Maybe this is why there is Traction on Ponzi as an adjective?
