  • Oil: Beware The Bounce [View article]
    Jm...

The data rooms are packed, Buyer's market! There were GWI with Operations offered in public auction that drew NO bidders recently. Buyer Beware!!

If the Saudi's keep their production rate steady many in the Service Sector will be consolidating. The Midstream space will see consolidation too. The refiners have little to fear.

Overall, the Big will get bigger and the Bankers will be writing off the bad debt side of liquidations. Bankruptcy just drags the pain out for all creditors.

If WTI jumps back quickly then much pain can be avoided, maybe?

When is it best to Gift the Shares away, diminishing ones taxable estate? When the owners basis is zero would be good, right?

  • Oil: Beware The Bounce [View article]
    Alex,

The Major Oil Companies are salivating profusely at the buying opportunities from those getting caught overextended. The Data Rooms are being built by some sad, sad Sellers. The Midstream space will see consolidation as well. DCP appears to have thrown its hands up by substantially cuts in their CapX and receiving a downgrade by Fitch. More "For Sale" signs going up in the Oilpatch for sure!

  • Rate hikes coming? Financials up big after jobs number [View news story]
    Rat,

If the Fed raises rates this year the DOW drops, and drops over 10%, my speculation. Go to Cash until the dust settles if the Fed hikes. The bank bet is a short term trade, in and out for a short term cap gains, taxable, profit. No where is safe to invest until the dust settles if the Fed raises rates.

Who is borrowing the money? I am afraid there are few borrowers outside credit card debt and car notes. The building of new Homes hasn't increased. The building of Rent Property has. The spread is great, but where are the flood of New Borrowers willing to cover that spread?

    Mr. Khan,

Are you aware of any preferential rights held by anyone regarding DPM? It look like DPM put up a For Sale sign in their recent report on reducing overhead, layoffs and a Fitch downgrade. Who woul be the obvious acquirer in such speculation?

Much more pain ahead for those wishing it away. For Sale signs popping up and will become more frequent. Buyer's market!

History says don't ignore that iceberg! What you can't see is a lot bigger and dangerous!

Actually I believe Nat Gas is interesting, but opportunities are way down the road!

  • DCP Midstream to lay off employees, consolidate offices [View news story]
The Midstream space is feeling the pain now. Nat Gas tariff revenue likely to decline in the 2nd & 3rd quarters if throughput volumes decline. Further share price decline if Nat Gas production declines.

    Ratings Agencies reacting:
"DCP Midstream holds inventories of and trades natural gas liquids and natural gas. In late January Moody’s downgraded DCP Midstream’s debt and Fitch Ratings followed suit, citing risk from commodities prices."

  • About Chevron's Dividend [View article]
Saudi Financial Minister said this morning on CNBC to look for deflation in crude prices into 2017. He was comfortable in saying that Saudi Arabia had prepared to burn stored cash for an extended period of deflation in Oil price.

I doubt if Saudi Arabia will experience the rapid proliferation of battery powered vehicles as expected around the world. BMW surprised the world with the debute of their carbon fiber battery powered car, as advertised during the Super Bowl. Tesla can't meet demand, but they are toast when GM and Ford start mass producing their battery models in 2016/17.And you can charge the battery powered car with a solar panel.

IRAN and RUSSIA and other Oil based economies are Toast? The Oilpatch in North America/Canada may have some opportunity in Nat Gas sometime in 2017?

Chevron may be a much smaller company sooner than later?
