Greetings all and a happy thanks giving to every one. Just more voodoo economics on display. "Beats." on negative numbers. Misses on positive ones. Unemployed consumers are more optimistic while fully employed investors are less so. Employees are in no position to take on more debt and employers are too cautious about more leveraging in a hostile environment. Small businesses won't borrow either because they may be crushed financially by pending legislation. Add the toxic waste hidden by the TBTF banks and the less than savory CRE loans at the regionals and no one is lending even to those who would borrow. Looks like a bleak holiday season to me.

Mr. Khon wouldn't know a bubble if it hit him in the butt with a bass fiddle. Sure China is all for lowering trade barriers unless of course it involves un-pegging their currency. Helicopter Ben will continue spouting B.S. of the most outlandish nature thinking that at least some of us still believe. Right Ben, you go brother. Our global leadership left a few months ago. If you think you are leading but no one is following you are just taking a walk. What is the POTUS doing? Looks like a walk about to me.

Foreclosure picture improves, well sort of. There are only 19% more this year than last and the three percent less than last month is temporary. Has any one notified Penny Smack? Not to worry though the own to rent program will keep additional inventory off the market. In other "Good news." Mortgage apps are up on the down side three fourths of them are refis. Hey Ben how are those low rates working for you? Got any new bubbles on the way for Da Boyz to play with?

Unfortunately the very government that employs the regulators is complicit in the activity they are now trying to prosecute. They (government officials) have morphed from referee to major player. Good luck getting any convictions in this environment. Now, where is that rabbit hole? I need to follow a bank regulator.

Finally Monday earnings after the close look almost normal. "Beats." were on mostly positive numbers and "Misses." reflected negative numbers. Did some one set off a logic bomb? Tightening credit markets going to "Normal lending standards.". Would that be the new normal, the old normal or some sort of hybrid?

Jenna Lee at Fox Business is reporting that Helicopter Ben wants to decide executive pay at all financial institutions to curb their penchant for risky behavior. He asserts that this will mitigate systemic risk. He also wants to regulate overdraft and late fees. What do those items have to do with risk mitigation?

Board rooms have always been good ol boys clubs. Share holders could deal with some of this with board elections. However getting enough of them moving in the same direction is like herding cats. Just ask Carl Ichan.

Ah yes control the pay. Didn't Barney Frank try to get legislation to regulate every one's pay a few months ago? Will this result in brain drain for the affected companies? Or will this be a cost advantage for them inducing competitors to make similar pay cuts? How will these events affect stock prices and returns? As for leading indicators no one is shipping any thing and no one is buying any thing.

These great "earnings" are on negative numbers by a three to one margin. Does that puzzle any one else or am I just dense?

With health care legislation shaping up behind closed doors and the Senate promising to use budget reconciliation to pass it with 51 votes the health insurance industry could be in trouble. Team Obama is dead set on getting single payer. With out tort reform Pharma and trial lawyers are going to be the only ones benefiting from this.

morris webb: Greetings. I agree that we will probably see a pull back but Federal stimulus working it's way through the system working it's way towards securing team Obama's reelection in 2012 should soften the impact. I moved 65% of my cash reserves into bonds yesterday. Redstones are selling CBS and Imelt is selling NBC. Now that they got their guy elected I guess they don't need those dogs any more. Both are hemorrhaging money.

I'm with you doubleguns. I wonder if they pay taxes on any of that shake down money. It almost seems like they are mobsters running around collecting protection money like they are doing in Mexico now.

So PM Gordon Brown is selling England by the pound. How much for Big Ben? Should the national park service sell naming rights to national parks and monuments? I can see it now: Siemens Grand Canyon Spa and Resort. This could be the break Soros has been waiting for. Now he can buy a 51% stake un the U.K.

I agree with Old Trader. Team Obama is overly wrapped up in semantics. A stimulus is a stimulus no matter what you call it. Do they really discount our intelligence so much that they think we won't know the difference? The employment index is down 15.6% from a year ago but the unemployment rate is still less than 10%. Does this make sense to any one here? When will these clowns just start telling us the unvarnished truth so we can quit calling them liars? Oh yeah I forgot we can't handle the truth.

Uncle Sugar is going to have a devil of a time sweeping their roll under the rug. Already this year we have seen government officials lying to each other about who directed whom to do what. I seriously doubt that we will ever get to the bottom of this. I also doubt that it will present much opportunity to make money so it's value is strictly entertainment.
