  • Weekly Street Sentiment: Not Much Change in the Markets [View article]
Sentiment for Apple is so sensitive you never know what news is gonna move it. Apple's sentiment trend just last week was extremely bearish (www.predictwallstreet....) upon the Job's sick news and then shot up to become extremely bullish. In an economy that is supremely emotion driven, Apple is at the helm of this sensitivity and keeping an eye on these fluctuations right now is key.

  • Yahoo Does OK in Q4, Guidance for Q1 Light [View article]
Carol has some work to do but it's not as bad as we (I) thought. I mean at least there is some hope here...Investors are still optimistic too--YHOO closed up today and sentiment actually looks like it could become bullish in the upcoming days (www.predictwallstreet....). I really thought people would become pretty bearish about this company after the release but it looks like YHOO withstood the recession better than most people though, especially with Bartz now at the head.

  • On the Heels of eBay's Slide, What News Will Amazon's Earnings Bring? [View article]
Amazon for the win. Consumer spending may be stabilizing, but EBAY already looks like there taking the brunt of this. There the top online retailer, they are doing something right and they just need to continue this into 09. Investors are feeling optimistic about AMZN (www.predictwallstreet....) and I think after estimates come out this will shoot up more.

  • Running Strong Again: The Four Horsemen of Technology [View article]
Well, I still think RIMM is a good buy. They beat earnings estimates, they have a good hold of market share, they continue to release new products (they did in 08, lets hope they do this year) and investors seem optimistic about this company and are becoming extremely bullish (www.predictwallstreet....) on Research in Motion.

  • Will There Be an Obama Bounce? [View article]
Obama bounce this week, Obama Crash next week once people realize numbers haven't actually changed.

  • Why Investors Should Have a Healthy Distrust of Management [View article]
Well, I understand where you were getting at with the "Prior to this Jobs thing." Although your use of perfect health might be exaggerated. Duh, Apple has told us Job's was sick but to what extent? They left a lot up for media and investor speculation without really giving too many concrete facts- many of which people either assumed OK, yes he is really sick or Nah, Jobs is fine. But nonetheless, you still had people sitting on both sides of the fence. It's no surprise then that the notoriously sensitive stock would drop on any Job's rumors. Although it is strange to look at the one month sentiment (www.predictwallstreet....) and see how bullish sentiment was in the beginning of the month and how drastically it dropped in such a short period. Just goes to show you how entirely crucial Jobs is.

  • The iPhone as the Ultimate Study Machine [View article]
I use my iTouch already to help me study by emailing myself my notes. It's the easiest way to make the most out of inopportune study times. I use it on the bus, while I'm walking, etc. The portability of it makes it so accessible. The only thing I would be weary of is with this sort of development there are sure to be developments in cheating as well. I already know a lot of classes that don't allow cell phones during tests because of this!

  • The Bull Run Begins This Week [View article]
It's like how many different way's can we write "today's market is down." The market is becoming desensitized to bad news but this is not to say that every investor should still be advised to use some discretion. Obama's inauguration will most likely provide a jolt- may be short lived, as other commentator's pointed out. But you can see investors already becoming excited about it. The real time sentiment meter today shows uncharacteristically bullish sentiment (www.predictwallstreet..../) despite the fact that numbers are pretty low.

  • Buying Microsoft Here [View article]
I like how you layed this out clearly with the best/worst case scencarios. Although a year for 1.58 does sorta seem like pennies. But hey in this market some people will take what they can get. MSFT has had a sorta rocky past month, sentiment everywhere. Investors seem to be getting more bullish on MSFT (www.predictwallstreet....) although on this chart I noticed in the past month sentiment was pretty bearish when the price shot up so who knows. And what about that possible Yahoo deal looming?

  • Yahoo Reloaded: New CEO, New Strategy? [View article]
After reading some of the articles about what Carol says, I'm beginning to like her more. She has a backbone and is strong enough for this company. Give her some time to catch up on her internet experience and she could be good. Investors seem to be warming up to her as well- Yahoo's slowly becoming more bullish and the majority of predictors have predicted up. (www.predictwallstreet....) YHOO is actually one of the few stocks up today.

  • Bearing Down on a Bearish Day [View article]
Surprisingly sentiment for the NASDAQ appears to be bullish (www.predictwallstreet..../) but is bearish for the SP500 and DJIA according to this sentiment meter. I remain overall bearish but there are a few companies like Apple that I believe can still pull it out despite these market conditions.

  • Analysts on Apple: Weakness Is a Buying Opportunity [View article]
I could see this weakness as a buying opportunity. Sentiment has been shifting pretty heavily for them lately. Monday it was really bearish and is bearish again today(www.predictwallstreet....) but I think these are only temporary dips as the rest of the month investors were feeling pretty optimistic. Apple is weighed down by the general market like any other stock, but I think they have more of a chance of recovering than some other companies in this environment.

  • Rumor Says Yahoo's In Play Again; Reality Says Not Likely [View article]
Firm specefic problems aside, Yahoo is being brought down by the general market. No news. I've notice though that despite all the pessimism often surrounding this company that sentiment has remained pretty strong (www.predictwallstreet.... is almost bullish and I'd be curious to see how this holds the price. I honestly don't know if their will be a buyout but I still think Yahoo could have a chance for the future if not.

  • Nice Short Squeeze on PALM [View article]
Palm has lost money in the last couple quarters and even with the expanding market, they are hardly even close to the leaders. Palm was forecasted to close down today (www.predictwallstreet....) and I remain bearish on them even though it seems sentiment for PALM is becoming bullish. I don't get it because it seems as if most people think this stock is either completely over priced or pretty much garbage.

  • Apple's FY09 EPS Estimate Is Too Low [View article]

While I had initially though that iPod sales coupled with the economy would have a pretty big effect on Apple, your article made me consider the other factors so while I still think that EPS will be that favorable, it probably won't decline as much as analysts believe it will. Sentiment is extremely bearish this morning for Apple (www.predictwallstreet....) but I think investors are seeing to many dismal reports and pessimistic headlines to think otherwise. It's been a rough beginning of the year but that doesn't mean it will necessarily be like this all the time in 09.
