Building Your Own Berkshire Hathaway [View article]
I have gone about creating y own BRK. I have picked up shares in many of the consumer franchise or wide moat companies such as, American Express, Campbell's Soup, Cintas, Coca-Cola, Diageo, GE, Krat Foods, L'Oreal, McGraw-Hill, Nestle, News Corp., Novartis, Procter & Gamble, Progressive, Sysco, Time Warner, Unilever, U.S. Bank, Viacom, Walgreen's, Western Union, and WPP Group.
Also, even though these are commodity products, I made what I consider to be some deep value pick up in Cemex, CRH, PLC, and Exxon Mobil. I bought Exxon in the 30's back in 2003. Hey, Buffett is big into building products and is also invested in oil.
I went ahead and bought a share of the BRK B and also picked up shares in the BRKish like Leucadia National.
I may have too many stocks now and have probably violated Buffett's rules on concentration.
However, the aggregate PE and ROE on these shares would indicate I should get some good movement out of these stocks.
