Projection implies prediction and sadly the general public often takes it as gospel. Throwing in a 'might' is a lame way of hedging your projection may prove to be inaccurate and save face if that is the case. It might be sunny tomorrow or then it might not. Having said that I still find the chart fascinating despite the dotted red line.

GS don't have to pay the money back because AIG had a contractual obligation to cough up additional colateral on their derivative bets that went sour. Last I checked contract law was still valid in the USA despite the current administration removing officers of public companies in the name of greater good for the country.

Your 12 point list directly addresses the point that MSmailbox seems to be missing. 'Becoming a very poor trader' is not something like catching a cold. I believe one is either improving through accurate record keeping and learning from mistakes or alternatively relying on the 'hope and pray method'. Unfortunately in my experience turning toward a higher divine power does little in bringing a losing position back to break even or goes back and executes a mental stop or cancelled hard stop. Of course this person could be trading Olive Oil futures and I may be completely wrong.
