Don't Just Do Something, Stand There

While I am all for letting chickens come home to roost, isn't that what essentially happened in 1929? Credit collapsed and governments said "who cares" and what followed was a decade of economic contraction and a bout of deflation so nasty it took a world war to end it. People sure learned their lesson - people still alive from that era still have trouble spending money with a clear conscience.
