  • Aveo's Inflection Point: Tivozanib Likely To Receive Positive Advisory Vote, FDA Approval [View article]
I was typing on a smartphone with a small keyboard that had auto spell check...lol.
My argument was basically that he is only a journalist without a scientific or medical background. The shares of aveo may have dropped because of his published article where he argued that tivo may not be approved. He may have shared his article to those who he knew before it was published to give them the opportunity to profit from the expected drop in share price.
I don't believe any of his actions were illegal and this is done all the time on seekingalpha.

  • Aveo's Inflection Point: Tivozanib Likely To Receive Positive Advisory Vote, FDA Approval [View article]
I am expecting only a marginally positive vote for tivo at the adcom too.. Thus, if anyone currently long aveo expecting almost all adcom members to vote for approval may have those expectations crushed.
However, almost nobody will remember or care about what was said and how many members voted for approval at the adcom when it RECEIVES FDA APPROVAL IN JULY.

A.F. is the same person who said vivus and arna drugs would not get approved! He is entitled to his views as long as you know that not that he is just a journalist with not medical background but also that it would not be surprising for him to share his yet to be published biotech opinions (that apparently seem to have an impact) to the people that "personally" know him so that they can profit. His negativity on tivo is nothing new unless you have just been following aveo for a few months. Long Aveo.

  • MannKind's Afrezza Likely To Fail AFFINITY 1 Phase III Trial [View article]
It seems some of you are so angry at him which probably means you must really care what he thinks. Thank him for the pullback and buy more if you remain very bullish
    . Agree?

Why do people keep saying that they are going to contact the SEC when someone disagrees with them or even provide false information....do you own research.

  • Big Move To Occur In Sarepta Therapeutics [View article]
Short Ratio is only about 3 days while some other biotechs have nearly 20 days so there are probably less people shorting srpt as a percentage of float is before results were released.

Bioguy appeared to suggested a spread instead outright calls because not only because they are very expensive and there is a chance it may be hard for them to be in the money at expiration.

His suggestion was that it is better to just buy the shares even though I was considered to using the leverage of options.

I liked your calls on acadia and arna. Acadia made a large gain shortly after you expected positive results back in November. You also were long Arna when many were skeptical or tried to get shares cheaper by criticizing Arna. In fact, I remember A.F. was trash talking Arna and said that it was unlikely to get approved probably to have the shares drop and then eventually disclosed that he became long.

I have also watched people suffer from this horrific disease and hoped that one day an effective treatment that is also safe would become available.

I am cautious about AA but love the potential of srpt. was considering use options but obviously they are very expensive. For example, I would have considered the May 32 Straddle Options but they are implying a 42% move by May Expiration which is about $14 either way. The safe bet would probably just wait to buy srpt after this decision is made but feel I would lose alot of upside in the short term. The optimal trade would probably to sell puts and use those funds to buy calls (you can while I cannot).
Do you plan on purchasing call options since you are very confident in srpt for AA?

I guess the debate you both had were that he said it was too small of a sample size to get AA while you said the results were so good for a debilitating disease with a guaranteed death sentence and that there is precedence that the FDA did approve a drug in the past with just 12 patients. Done for now...probably put you to sleep.

    I have 2 questions:
What is srpt worth without aa...price plunge if rejected?
What drug had the lowest number of patients to get approval?

  • 5 Reasons MannKind Could Be The Best Performing Stock Of 2013 [View article]
I have purchased research reports on biotech, too and they were less comprehensive than this one. Though I do disagree that this stock is unlikely to reach $43 because of one of three reasons.
    1) Failed Trial: Plunges More than 80% and may be the end of mannkind.
2)Marginal Results: Little improvement over standard of care may increase the price of shares somewhat.
    3) Excellent Results: Vast Improvement over the standard of care and gains will be capped due to a buyout that will cap gains possible if mannkind stayed independent.

Also, some people keep bringing up that mannkind shares were up much more in that past but that was also before shares were dilluted several times so that is not a fair comparison.

  • 5 Reasons MannKind Could Be The Best Performing Stock Of 2013 [View article]
I understand how you feel that this a "pump and dump" article. Moreover, I would be skeptical that someone would put the huge amount of time and effort to share extremely positive views on a stock unless they are very are long a huge amount of shares. Sorry folks if you think this article is an act of altruism. He had to disclose that he was long to establish some credibility because using basic logic would assume for the reasons above why he would be long.
    All this being said:
    1) I am mildly bullish on mnkd...though not at current prices...catalyst too distance and should expect a pullback (traders' impatience and/or market conditions).
    2) I dont want to be a hypocrite since I probably would write an elaborate article like this for a company's shares that I had already owned (if I had his writing skills).

August is almost 5 months away and there is a chance results might not be released until September (just an uneducated guess). All the information presented in this article is nothing new to those who already follow Mannkind closely but is a good summary for potential new shareholders.
I am going to either sell covered calls or wait for a 10% pullback because nothing really has changed from Thursday to Friday.

  • Synta Pharmaceuticals' Subgroup Selection Strategy Is A Set-Up For Success [View article]
This article does not add anything new that almost everyone who follows snta already knows. Also, are you talking about g-pib being halted early for efficacy in 2014? If so, then there are better opportunities out there.

  • Drug Approvals Are Priced In, Wait For The Buying Opportunity [View article]
You believe that I am trying to bring the stock down because I am giving my opinion on alxa in the form of criticism!
What was the purpose of your OPINION because that is what your article ULTIMATELY IS!
DO NOT TELL ME IT IS ALTRUISM!
I wish I could say that am I sorry for offering a differing opinion.

  • Drug Approvals Are Priced In, Wait For The Buying Opportunity [View article]
Alxa is short of money and will need financing for the launch in the form and expect dillution in a form of share offering that will be a deep discount to current prices....probably $4.

Alxa could not form a partnership before approval due to lack of interest from large biotech/pharma.

Lack of interest from institutional investors that special in healthcare such as orbimed, baker bros, perceptive advisers. Do you know something they don't?

Finally, alxa may join other biotechs that traded significantly lower after having their drugs approved that have included somx, fcsc, ngsx in the recent past.

Short alxa and hope to cover around $4.
