  • We've Now Approached 'Stupid' Levels For Prospect Capital [View article]
    Lets see--cut the dividend-bad, high fees-bad, stop issuing shares-good, discount to NAV-good, spinoffs-unknown

  • Peak Resorts Is Skiing Just Ahead Of An Avalanche [View article]
I have read both articles. There is quite a bit of math here. Did anybody think about the future of the skiing industry? My forty plus years of skiing has me thinking back to lift ticket prices near $35. Last year I wasn't able to eat lunch for that amount. The prices are sky high and the total number of skiers is going down.

  • Avoid Prospect Capital [View article]
If the argument is buy gold or PSEC then most anyone can choose the right one.
When the conversation is buy or sell PSEC--there is a great deal of consternation.
The dividend is forecast for months. Patience, dividends, diligence and a longer than your nose view will help in seeing that the share price is lower than it has been in a long time and its not the end of the world. Sell your shares if you think the below NAV dilution and possible 2 cent divvy reduction is for sure. I'll buy your shares.

all my holdings have taken to going down
best to look for a rooster in the coop
better pick up these dividend eggs
butter stays firm in the kitchen this time of year

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Argentina Held In Contempt By NY Judge [View article]
It looks like an up day and I don't even have a camera strapped on my head.
Those Chinese leaders are a nervous bunch, iPhone security(really?) and protesters on the streets.
I myself will be buying gas and going to work. Have a happy.

  • Prospect Capital: Should You Go All In If Shares Fall Below $10 Again? [View article]
I just got back from my investment club meeting, yesterday and these comments remind me of the club members group think--safety first. I reminded them of risk/ reward. Many stocks have no dividend. The concept for me is "mix it up." Further, you win some, you lose some, and some are rained out. My experience has been that dividends make the difference--not the share price on a given day or week. If PSEC is disappointing you-- then sell, buy GE and get outside and smell the air of autumn.
Disclosure: long PSEC and using the dividends to buy more dividend paying stocks across many sectors(MLP's, REIT's, BDC's, preferreds, private equity, etc.)

  • Analyzing Prospect Capital Corp.'s Recently Restructured Control Investments And Its Impact On NII [View article]
    Great Scott.
"I've been long and I've been wrong--usually not at the same time."
    Where are those dividends?
Oh yeah I collected them and used it for investment activities.
    Just a plan, not complicated.
Keep those detailed and insightful articles coming.

  • Now Boarding: Algorithm Predicts Lockheed Martin Shares Will Take Off [View article]
Let me guess that this terrific algorithm based information is free. My own research did point to ARP so I must be doing something wrong. F was a buy and GS turns my stomach so the list does cover the spectrum. As for me? Plan my vacation and deploy cash after the correction. Keep those computers humming, LMT needs the spotlight.

  • Prospect Capital +3.4% after SEC appeal pans out [View news story]
The water was rising but I held my breath.
I knew it was an accounting scare but could not convince myself to buy more.
With the water receding and a $10.xx NAV I'll buy some for fun.
A bargain flyer with a healthy dividend in case I am wrong on the price appreciation.

  • The Adaptive Genius Of Rigged Markets [View article]
I dislike HFT. I can't compete with fractions of a second execution. Investing in a "company" by analyzing information sometimes takes me a couple of weeks(waiting for a catalyst or a price point) not .0000001 seconds. Knowing somebody like my neighbor who is a HFT'er who nets vast sums front running the orders makes me angry. Yes, I still work too, thanks for asking.

  • The $1 Million Perpetual Income Portfolio [View article]
What a read. Mighty fine thinking on your part. My, not hypothetical, assets share some similarities. Bond allocation at 20% is too steep for me personally. Walmart was chosen for safety? BP for risk? I like RDS.B for oil. Concur on PSEC. I didn't see any preferreds in there. AAPL was good to me on its ascent(sold just before the fever set in). International dividends, agreed. Like the options here and there you mention to show some flexibility for readers. Nice work and I will follow over time. My full disclosure is "burned on US Steel."

The Barron's article was written for the shorts and the short sighted. Sure wish I had millions to be buying at this share price.
