  • 'Institutional Type' Stocks Will Rise and Rise Some More [View article]
If only life was that easy !
As we have been, and are in a new paradigm, I personally do not believe that institutional holdings are key to any serious stock gains anymore.
Due to the complete destruction of old market tenets like "Buy and hold for 10 years", by the nefarious hedge funds, I do not see the point of giving much respect to the institutions. The institutions quite frankly, are relics of the past, comatose giants if you will.
If the institutions were truly an indicator of a stock's value, then stock's like X would not be down approx $160 per share. As X is 65% owned by these institutions, what better example of the institutions impotence could one cite ? Also reference the fact that the average investor's 401 K plan is down 45%. This fact further enhances my irrelevant institutions argument.
Today's market is nothing more than a crap shoot. Somewhat sophisticated in nature, but still a gamble, more than ever. We can thank the hedge funds for the complete destruction any moral, ethical, intellectual, financial parameters that were pillars of the past. By today's
amoral standards, the average investor has a better shot betting a football game than he or she has bucking up against the hedge funds.
I recall the days when we thought our former "great banks" were institutions as well !
