Totally agree tha Yahoo has a great financial website. I'd also like to share another that I tap on to frequently...and that is Marketwatch.com....Then go to the bottom right and click inot its "Virtual Stock Exchange" an excellent gauge for where the stocks are heading and which stocks are the biggest movers of the day. Another is Tickerspy.com which I find to be helpful too.
Extremely Bullish on Quadra Mining - Raymond James [View article]
If you ever follow Raymond James Recommendations, you will find that 9 out of ten times they will appraise the stock as "STRONG BUY" I'm questionning the Integrity and the research deparment of Raymond James's "blessings" on the stocks they cover. Perhaps it is time for Raymond JAMES to clean their rose-colored glasses?
Service Corp.: The Stock May Be Down, But This Company Is Hardly Dead [View article]
SCI's philosophy is that might makes right....They have gobbled up Alderwoods and others to become a meaner leader in its field of death. With the aging baby boomers, their future is quite secure for years to come. One drawback in its stock is that SCI's inventory is quite expensive due to the fact that they have paid BIG $$$ to acquire competitors; and the only way to compensate for their expenditures is to raise their funeral as well as their cemetery prices. When the family is grieving, they tend to gravitate towards the funeral home that advertises its products and has a large inventory of plots and niches. Comparison of prices at time of a beloved's death is emotional and not a product of price comparison logically. And that is what SCI banks on. Though the product is expensive in comparison to its competitors, SCI will do well in the long run if they become more fiscally conservative with their spending.
Why doesn't Faisal own the stocks he is touting???? Is he just blowing smoke to appear in print? Have you ever read the "top Gurus" prognosticate? They have at their beck and call huge research departments to back their stories...And at the end of the year---they don't fare any better than an average investor. What a racket !!!
Bank of America Potentially the Next Citibank? [View article]
Call me stupid, call me a moron, but I just bought 500 shares of BofA. One of two Americans have some sort of an account with BofA, and they are being bailed out playing with the government's money to the tune of Billions (thank you very much Uncle Sam). My daughter will either call me a genius in 10 years or the dumbest investor dad who ever lived. I would prefer to follow the footsteps of Sir John Templeton when he bought at the height of maximum pessimism. There is a fine line between genius and lunatic...
You may disagree and bash Roger's ideas, but why not keep your mean-spirited and bigoted prejudices out of the picture. It saddens me that you look at the man who is a self-made millionaire; he truly loves China and has bought an apartment there. Sends his kids to learn Chinese; and you stand pontificating that Rogers knows nothing about China merely because he is a white man. I was born in China and am also white. In fact, I'm more Chinese than most Chinese-Americans. So, don't judge the man by the color of his skin; if you must attack---then attack his business acumen and ideas.
Three Stocks We're Long With High Conviction [View article]
Oh, my. I detect anger and Jealousy (.?). It's not about how much Warren makes. It is about you being a wiser investor and make some money..Remember Sir John Templeton's famous observation that made him a Billionaire:" Buy at a point of maximum pessimism" If you've got time on your side to await the great stocks to make a rebound after the dust is all settled--bully for you "There is nothing new under the sun" the book of Ecclesiastes says. Ergo---the stocks that are seemingly down for the count, will get up!!!
Lithium-Ion Batteries and Centerfolds: The Final Chapter [View article]
Look around, everything is dependent upon batteries in our world. I wish I had the money to cover all battery bets, so I'll stick with the few that are tried and true: ULBI, ENS, ABAT, VLNC. Happy hunting, folks...one of these gold veins will someday hit the motherload.
