Perhaps more than any other time in the last six decades, the fate of markets is inextricably intertwined with the ebb and flow of geopolitics. From the ECB's attempts to use the central bank's balance sheet to influence political outcomes across the eurozone to Saudi Arabia's efforts to transform the kingdom's influence over crude prices into an instrument of foreign policy, it's become increasingly clear that one simply cannot fully comprehend market movements without a thorough understanding of concurrent political outcomes. Drawing on extensive experience in both politics and finance, Heisenberg will help demystify a world in which investors can no longer hope to conceptualize markets as existing in anything that even approximates a vacuum. "I am the one who knocks."
I work in the accounting department of a construction management company and have a BBA from Hofstra University with majors in accounting and finance.
I am a bottom-up, value based investor who has started to take more of a Fisher/Munger approach by looking for companies that sell at fair prices but can compound earnings at high growth rates. I will occasionally look at special situations also. My time horizon is 5 years or longer.
Please read my disclosure at the bottom of my articles. I will mostly be researching a company with the intent of buying shares within a 72 hour time period or at some point in the future.

I am a simple individual investor who believes that the playing field is level, but may require active management of one's holdings.
I've devised a series of steps that constitute a highly defined covered option strategy that most anyone can follow and that I've described in Option to Profit (2011).
Having retired from a career in Pediatric Dentistry, approximately 10 years ahead of schedule, after spending the previous 10 years working just 2 days each week, I now spend my time trading and alerting others of trading opportunities in large cap positions through the Option to Profit subscription service, a premium subscription service that provides actionable Trading Alerts via text messaging or e-mail at www.optiontoprofit.com. as well as a Web site access only subscription plan.
The Option to Profit subscription service is now in its 4th year.
Now, the Web Access subscription plan is available through Seeking Alpha's "Marketplace." A listing of those articles can be found at https://seekingalpha.com/account/research/subscribe?slug=george-acs
The subscription through Seeking Alpha also includes access to the full Option to Profit web mirror site at http://sa.optiontoprofit.com.
I want you to join me in making your stock portfolio improve the quality of your life. Whatever stage of life you are in, you can make your stocks improve that quality by putting them to work for you.
I am a part time investor focused on building my family's wealth incrementally over the long term by investing in companies that are well positioned to benefit from important macroeconomic themes. I have a passion for research and hold a M.S from the University of Pennsylvania. I have been an active investor for well over a decade and consider the understanding of global markets and major economic themes as one of my life's passions. I believe that investors can build wealth over the long term by ignoring short term market fluctuations and market "noise" to focus on global economic themes and fundamental company performance.

I'm a finance student with an passion for financial markets. I first learned about Seeking Alpha when they hosted a stock pick challenge on campus. After learning about the "wisdom of crowds" I decided to research what Seeking Alpha truly was to get a better picture. After lurking on Seeking Alpha for some time, I decided to write my own articles. Now I'm completely hooked to its culture.

I manage the capital of only a handful of families and I see it as my number one job to protect their financial security. They don’t pay me to sell them investment products, beat an index, abandon true investing for mindless diversification or follow the Wall Street lemmings down the primrose path. I manage their money exactly as I manage my own so I don’t take any risk at all unless I strongly believe it is worth taking.
Blogging here on SA is part of my research. I write to find out what I think.

I am a former investment advisor and owner of several businesses, and consequently everything related to business - including investing, macro-economics, and emerging products and services come under my research and interests radar.
The most interesting and important to me are the entertainment industry, commodities, BRICs, and the impact of loose money policies on businesses and investors.
These days I invest only for myself, while continuing to write on a variety of financial and economic topics.

My job has nothing to do with the financial world, on the contrary - I have a college education and a Ph.D. in science and I work for a large cooperation in the German industry. I bought my first stocks almost 20 years ago, starting with investments in DAX companies (the German large cap index) and have continuously broadened my horizon geographically and to other equity classes since then. My main ambition is to obtain financial independence and the admittedly challenging ultimate goal is to retire at the age of 50 (or at least in the mid-fifties). Let’s see how this turns out…
