Adobe's CS4 Should Give Apple Sales a Boost [View article]
OK...not joining in the argument for obvious reasons, but one thing has always been known to me, but has never been clearer. The intense rivalry that exists between Apple and PC users.
I'm not blind, I always knew it was going on, I just never realized the intenseness of it.
It reminds me of the early 80's Islanders-Rangers, Yankees - Red Sox, the old Brooklyn Dodgers-Yankees, or was it the NY giants and the Yankees? I'm close, I know but not that old to actually have been there. Lakers-Celtics in the Magic-Larry Byrd Days.
Everyone had an opinion or a side even if they weren't in the game or had a rooting interest. Of course, in marketbonics speak, you root for where your $ is.
This has to be one of the hottest rivalries around, of course of course if we're talking goods, I forgot coke and Pepsi, Budweiser and Old Milwaukee (OK, just kidding there)
OK, funny, the guy on CNBC just called Erin Burnett, Becky. It seems like you can't mention Warren buffet's anme with out his favorite little CNBC cutie pop up somehow. ( he does have good taste)
Google's G1: A Paradigm Shift in Mobile Phones [View article]
Good Morning
when we all first learned of the collection of companies who joined the Android 'club' of whatever it was called at the time.
If I recall there were 20 or so companies, not all phone makers or designers, but part and participle suppliers. One that comes to mind is arguably the touch screen creator and definitely innovator, Synaptics. where do the other companies who make or manufacture pieces, like chips, batteries processors who knows. I know the internals of a phone like what is really in a hot dog.
anyway, where do they figure into, 'their piece of the pie' so to say?

It's so odd to me. when DNDN spiked into the 20's i remember peopleposting that they couldn't short the stock anymore, their broker didn't have and couldn't find anymore shares to short for their clients. I guess things have changed a little bit since than. What would happen in todays market, ok before 5 days ago, when naked short selling was allowed.
what would have happened. I'm lost on this one as usual.
Waste Services Industry: Trash to Treasure [View article]
Guys, look at it this way....I spent many years in the biz, residential and mostly commercial in NY metro area. so kinda seen it all from the front to the upper view, either way it smells I have been told. After awhile you don't notice.
this I noticed. It wasn't too long ago, right over the (excuse spelling ) Kosciusko Bridge in brooklyn, around the BQE( for non NYers, just before Manhattan, sat the 2 biggest waste companies in the country, right down the block from each other. One was Waste Management, who in my opinion was the smaller of the 2 and not the big name. down the block, both with their own transfer stations etc, was the pretty and very difficult to do, clean trucks for BFI. Browning Ferris Industries. If you watch movies from the 80's onward, when ever you see dumpsters in it, they are thespecial oclor Blue' of BFI. Ironically, our blue was the blue my company used and I guess mixed or chose whatever, so they called it our company's name 'Blue'. Insignificant bit of oddball news. Whenever you had the prerequisite front end loader (the truck with the forks that empties the container through its roof) is backing out of an alley in a movie chase scene a lot of times its the blue BFI. what I am saying is they were all over the country. I even told my bro in law at the time to check them out as he was into stocks and had money, i was neither, and realistically still aren't!!!
Than one day, it just hit me. where the hell Did BFI go. No more pretty blue containers. They were bought out, taken over, merged, still not sure by or with Waste Management, which immediately became the big kid on the block.
Here is a rule of thumb guys. If a company owns or runs it's own landfills and doesn't have to dump the garbage they pick up in a municipality, they are saving millions. dumping fees were out of control toward the end of the truly 'private' sanitation companies, the mom and pops if you will. Even thought they weren't small or inexpensive to run. If you have your own landfill, you bring your loaded trucks in, save up to sometimes $1,000 or more if its raining or you are loaded with 'slop'. A garbage term for food from diners(ok outside of NY, Denny's Perkins, waffle house), restaurants, fish places, anyplace where food is thrown into a dumpster, it weighs a considerable amount. At one point we had scales in the truck weighing each container, the dumping fees were out of control If you went to dump a roll off from a diner or similar to above, example catering halls, where they needed something bigger, they had compacters built into them and you'd pick those bad boys up and flip them around to dump and vice versa, again....some of the heaviest and wear and tear on trucks, drive shafts, tires and universals would snap.
so imagine not paying for that? when you could shop around for the best place if and when your landfill got closed, like all are in NY. Many are still open but for construction debris and guys watch you dump to make sure, no tires, nothing. even clean fill, which you used to dump for free, dirt, top soil etc than it it had one piece of wood you paid for 20 yard roll off of dirt of cement...think of the tonnage.
OK, I enjoyed my trip down memory lane, but that is what killed private sanitation in NY metro area. Anyone recall the infamous garbage barge, that had no place to call home. dumping fees were so outrageous here that well some companies were forced out of business.
the final point is anyone left standing today is no small potatoes. I don't care where they are or if centralized in one area. a small company would have almost an impossible time making it now. the towns wound up taking over routes. Only private companies that filled voids for the WMI, AW and republic etc made it.
as I used to say and tell my boss, especially at raise time... 'there's gold in them there pails'. Nothing could be truer the longer it goes on. Until we go soylent green, there will always be waste.
I bit of an insiders view and I am for speaking tours at bar mitzvahs, sweet sixteens and Holiday parties, not to mention Christenings.
I love the commercials I think for waste mgmt, all the guy does is drive around town, smiling as lights go on and doesn't pick up a damn thing. Point of similarity, regarding the last minute trades od E-Trade with a lot of shares.
I just read an article very similar to Sirius and the same thing happening. Only, as I recall, it was a lot more shares in 3 different blocks, all at the last minute/. as a matter of fact, the author note that from 3:30 - 4, there was no purchase or sales for 100 shares or anything close. He seems to feel the stock is being manipulated as for the first time in awhile that day Siri actually made it too over a dollar and than this. How do the big guys just take over a whole half hour of trading on a single security. I'm sure it's not that hard, but sees illogical and almost criminal to me. I'm not a pro, so what do I know

I've been with DNDN since the last uber movement.Ive ben waiting, albeit nor smart but emotional, because I played my hand wrong. Auxilium Gets A Testoserone Boost - Barron's [View article]
I was on testim for almost a year maybe a little less and it grew to be a big pain rubbing it in both shoulders everyday. sometimes you forget and it didn't do a lot for testosterone levels that much. I dint see really any side effects.
My uro, after doing every kind of Marquis De Sade test he could think of. 4 times is way too many times for a man to go where no man should ever have a device and camera placed. Nuff said
So nothing found.
Next thing was an implant of testosterone implants in my butt cheek. Seriously. The best is going for MRI's and telling them if you have any implants. any way, its a real small incision and they stick 6 tablets in there, so I was told. I pictured like Miracle Gro sticks. Anyway, things should be looking better again for Testim pretty soon, as insurance companies have refused to pay for the ass transplants. so thats my story. If many people tried the implants or if Testim's use dropped in the past 6 months or more...it might be looking for a retracement...all based on what my butt told me.

I don't like pit bulls in news who jump on everyones words and are always right, and never wrong. He was even chastised on the air recently by Bill O'neil or Steve Lesman (forgive sp!) to be careful what you say as it affects the price. I'm only 8 years from my masters and I knew that

Apple: Major Bounce or Major Breakdown? [View article]
reminds me of that old(er) TV commercial, you didn't listen to mother nature.
OK, as though I am taking a bit of a smack across the knuckles with a ruler lately in the Apple school. How hard is it for anyone to write a story, someone with a tiny bit more knowledge than I, but use a little flavor, touch of humor, not all zany and wacky and make ot a different kind of read. after pouring through all the analyst reports and balance sheets that I say I do everyday, it would be a bright spot on semi-gloss paper for a little something different now and than.
Speaking of different, how about good AApl news today time to go finish today's 'Us and them' spot for thedarksize.com The hidden from your site web site for fear of burnt retinas on the top left of this article response; or below my name..or where it says website. ahh heck if you want to find it you will. you will, yes you will

Auxilium Gets A Testoserone Boost - Barron's [View article]
If many people tried the implants or if Testim's use dropped in the past 6 months or more...it might be looking for a retracement...all based on what my butt told me.
bet that's a first!
