Open office: what do you know about "the vast majority of users" are you big brother? do you think anyone is just part of the stupid herd? you might have something there. Anyway open office spreadsheet does not include programming and i do program my excel applications with visual basic! very handy.

So is windows with all its automatic system and security updates and comparatively hassle free setup, maintenance and use.
