I was a responsible person until my income couldn't keep up with the interest rates, gas prices, electric prices, food prices, etc; of 2008. I had a BankOne card, it was bought out by Chase and eventually got charged off. I had a Providian card, bought out by WAMU, then bought out by Chase, eventually charged off. I have a car note with Citibank Financial, at least until its bought out by Chase. I had a home loan with Origin Financial, bought out by Green Tree Financial, at least as long as Green Tree stops monkeying with the application of my payments, or until Chase buys it. Ok, so that last one was a stretch, but all banks seem to be ending up owned by either Chase or Chase's rejects.

I have a job, which means I'm rich by Democratic Progressive standards. I live in a mobile home, which means I'm not rich by anyone else's standards. I have to pay attention to the markets and the news, because it's the only way I can figure out why my money isn't going far. I was better off before the Democrats tried to make me better off, but I'm just a taxpayer, so only Conservative Republican's believe me when I say that.
