  • The Burst Commodities Bubble [View article]
The whole commodities "bubble" theory was phony baloney. Companies with good earnings and solid fundamentals in markets of high demand are SUPPOSED to rise in price. That's what happens in a healthy market. There was no need for a "correction" because nothing was incorrect.
This crash was brought on something else. I suspect market manipulation of a high order --hedge fund mischief, short selling sleaze, fake pronouncements by by fat cats looking to clean up at the top and the bottom.
This wasn't about worthless overpriced stocks reaching their true value (as in the Dot Com Bubble) -- it was about good stocks being driven into the ground by sleazy manipulative crooks.

  • Political Energy Policy Just for Laughs [View article]
"and the engineers to design the plants, the manufacturers to build the components, and the construction hands to build them literally do not exist."
If you would care to look beyond the edge of Island America, you might notice that that nuclear plants have been going up all over the world for a long time.

  • The Commodity Comeback: Sooner Than You Think [View article]
Thanks for the voice of sanity.
It's understandable that there would be such a big commodity sell off since there were such huge profits to be made. The current atmosphere of gloom & doom helps push the bottom lower too.
The commodity ride has a long way to go. My only regret is that I don't have more cash to scoop up the bargains.

  • The Bear Reaches Out for Commodities [View article]
What business cycle, silveraxis? From where I'm looking, the U.S. isn't pulling the train like it used to.

  • The Bear Reaches Out for Commodities [View article]
Commodities are not a fad. They are the stuff that growth is made of. When everyone in China, India and other emerging economies has the same standard of living as the U.S, Europe and the rest of the world's fatcats, or the Earth spins out of orbit, the demand for commodities will continue to grow. Until then we will endure cycles of profit-taking, bargain-shopping, and silly panic until the "experts" lift their noses off the charts and look at the big picture.
