The Yahoo Board Vote: Did Some Directors Actually Lose?

I voted the Gold proxy as I felt the Yahoo board had badly mismanaged the response to the Microsoft offer. I had no idea that my votes against the Yahoo board would not be counted, and by the time the Icahn settlement was announced, I did not have time or the information to make new votes. It seems totally wrong that my votes were not counted and there are problems many millions of shares in the same position.
