Appleās Dramatic Risks and Ambitions [View article]
What is funny is that Apple has not said EXACTLY how the design team is going to be engaged within Apple. Apple designs lots of different chips designs other than microprocessors. They could develop coprocessors to add to the Intel processor, they could be doing some ASIC chip design, etc. There are plenty of possibilities other than trying to take business away from Intel. It could be that they just add additional chip designs onto the Intel processor road map and it isn't a big deal to pontificate as to what and how they are going to use the design talent. They are basically chip designers being added to a company that does design various chips for various reasons.

The problem with relying on Amazon for accurate information is that a lot of Apple products (laptops, iPods, etc.) get sold either through the Apple On-Line Store or through Apple Stores and those sales don't get folded into Amazon's lists.... So it is kind of ignorant to use Amazon as an indicator if Apple products are any part of the analysis.

Hmmmmm..... From my point of view. Let's look into the crystal ball for a moment based on past performances of the Apple product line.
1. Apple introduced the iPhone and is selling at a brisk rate, increasing sales, adding markets in other countries soon. Also, I am sure additional product launches will be made. When? I am sure they'll announce another version in the next. It's only logical. 2. Desktop/Laptop sales are increasing. 3. Leopard is flying off the shelves at a brisk rate and they have a larger install base for potential upgraders. Some people are switching or choosing the Mac platform which is helping increase market share. 4. iPods just got an overhaul, and I am sure they'll have another overhaul next year some time. 5. Other software announcements? I don't think a year has gone by without some sort of upgrade and/or new software offering. iWork seems to be a very inexpensive alternative for Office for those that don't need to spend the money on Office. iLife has a decent upgrade which will probably continue to sell to the current install base. Another versions of one or both? Maybe.
I think based on the potential markets opening up, my crystal ball says Buy Apple.... Unless something happens beyond Apple's control. I think the upside might be in the 250+ range for next year. Still too soon for me to predict anything more than that. But that's just me.....

What would be a great article is how fairly large companies are paying for client and server licenses for file/print, email, etc. whereas Apple gives you unlimited licensing. Boy are people getting RIPPED off with Microsoft's licensing..... How about several hundred dollars for a OS upgrade versus $129 or less. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... I'll take the $129 or less upgrade to Leopard desktop license, thank you very much....... It works great! Much faster OS and browser. Even on an older computer. It's like Vista Ultimate, only more features. Has Microsoft come out with 3+1 video conferencing yet? Hmmmm... I think maybe Apple should offer iChat AV client for those lonely Microsoft users to get a bigger bite of Apple.

I know. I guess he wanted to see his article pop up in Yahoo news so he can boost his ego, since everywhere else is positive on Leopard. It's usually third party apps that need to be re-written anyway. Some developers are better and faster at resolving the problem than others. People have to realize that what and how Apple is developing their OS is quite different and overall a much better strategy. Apple implements as many good features they get from the feedback they get and they actually listen to their customers. Why do you think Apple's market cap is getting bigger, and BIGGER and they are a much more efficiently run computer/software maker than anyone else? I think it is because they eat their own food because it tastes better.

Well, if the author of this article would do some research, he would find out that this issue has been resolved and it was really an Adobe issue. Adobe has quickly resolved the issue within a week. I would like to see things resolved in Windows within a week. Yeah, good luck. Any major issues Apple quickly resolves. That's why they have updates. Microsoft waits almost a year before they release a Service Pack and you still have a crappy OS. Allow, Deny.
