  • Crop Progress: Corn Conditions Dangerously Low [View article]
Ben Bernanke still thinks of weather as a random variable. He doesn't understand that the frequency of extreme crop-altering events (Flood, Heat and Drought), has increased dramatically over the last 50 - 100 years--worldwide.

This statement is accepted as factual, in the meteorological and climate science communities. It's a conclusion, based on the data only, and not on the validity of global warming.

The question, on medium and long time frames is really; how bad will it get?

For this and other reasons, he tends to underestimate the rate of inflation.

  • Apple's Drop Now Too Large To Ignore [View article]
The discussion of "stock overhang" may be incorrect. It is based on classical technical analysis, that assumes a decent amount of retail investor volume.

Retail participation in the Market is very low, and probably lower for a stock with a $600 price tag. (except for ETFs)

If I am right, most of the Apple holders are held by institutions and money managers, So I don't know that technical analysis of this type, is applicable.
