great article. I was wondering why Amgen sold off after earnings. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Never did buy Amgen; preferred Gild, Biib and Celg.

  • The Coal Market Will Rebound In The Long Term [View article]
A bumpy ride? I'd say so. these companies are bleeding money and will be lucky to survive this downturn. with WLT and ANR both under the cost of a hershey bar, I'd say they would be on top of the list of who might not make it much longer. WLT at .65, down from over 140, I'd say that was pretty bumpy. And to think, I was pissed when I sold it for $7. Now that turned out to be a great trade. I've heard these arguments for the past few years about coal turning around. I'm not so sure. The damage has been pretty severe.

  • Tech Breakthroughs Should Continue To Fuel Global Growth [View article]
couldn't agree more. you left out a few things. people have lost all ability to interact with each other by talking to one another or by looking at each other eyeball to eyeball. Instead, we text or email which is just not the same. There is nothing personal about that. We expect things to happen immediately and because of that, we have lost the meaning of the word patience. Instead of children being outside, playing , exercising and interacting with other children, too many of them stay inside wasting their best years banging on a keyboard looking at things that may be detrimental to their health.

As far as I am concerned, the best shows on TV are Father Knows Best, Donna Reed, Leave It To Beaver and Andy Griffith. That would humble anyone and we could all rediscover the importance of family.

George, you have a very unusual sense of humor and I mean that in the best way. I think that you'd be the kind of guy that would be fun to hang out with. How about lunch at Shake Shack?

  • What Wall Street Doesn't Want You To Know: The Foolishness Of Chasing The Most Popular Themes [View article]
    Dear Robert,

a very interesting and true article. I do much of my own research and one year, I decided to keep track of all the guys on CNBC's Fast Money. Over a 2 year period, I found out that if you would have followed their advice, you would have fared very poorly. Pretty much every time, they talked about only the hot stocks....the ones that had tremendous runs by the time they were mentioned on Fast Money. The show Fast Money should really be called "Where Did My Money Go?" That would be more appropriate.

I hope others realize the point of your article. Thank you.

  • Tim Cook's Surprise Phone Call - Cramer's Mad Money (3/12/15) [View article]
mark-of course he did. did you notice the look on Cramer's face when Cook called? he wasn't surprised at all. That show is not about's about Cramer pumping his ideas and himself And about viewers. The ratings on CNBC are so low the producers probably figured a call from Cook would make people think that the brightest and best are watching CNBC. It's called show buz.....I ain't buying it.

  • Westport Launches New Combustion Technology with Volvo Cars [View article]
new announcements of new technology, alliances etc still won't help until this company can grow it's top line and make some money......something they can't seem to do....hence you've got a stock below 5 bucks. on the sidelines for now.

  • Signs for more Chinese stimulus? [View news story]
maybe expectations were just too high. the numbers I just read seem like an economy on fire. where else in the world are things growing this fast? glass is half full, not half empty. In this case. I feel whatever the numbers are, it wouldn't be enough. Just like how much money is enough? For some people, there is no number that is enough. After all, how much stuff can you cram in to your 4 walls? Some people need to reset their priorities.

  • The Long Case For Gilead Sciences, Inc. [View article]
doth-wherever you are, it looks nice. what i said was there are better biotech stocks if you are a trader. that would include Celg, Regn, and Biib. When it comes to the biotechs, I stay with the largest and most profitable. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

  • Best Russell 1000 Basic Materials Stocks According To Greenblatt Principles: A Look At CF Industries [View article]
Cf is an amazingly good company and stock to own. I have owned and traded this stock for years. Their management team is top notch and this company under promises and over delivers consistently. Yesterday's stock price jump shows just how much wall street loves this company.

  • The Long Case For Gilead Sciences, Inc. [View article]
these bullish articles on Gilead are getting old. we know the fundamentals are great; we know they are a cash flow machine; we know that the last quarter's results were outstanding, we know the stock is very reasonably priced. Then why is a 122 target something to get excited about? Seems to me that Gilead is being priced very conservatively as if the street has reservations about their growth rate going forward. Reminds me of Apple about a year ago. For now, a good solid holding but others in biotech seem better bets for traders.
