Good article but ignores the facts about how we got to the problem with the loan originators in the first place. Sorry Dems you've got blood on your hands this time. The tapes of the house and senate hearings are easy to get and your guys are all over the place saying how solid Fannie and Freddie are. Also the amounts that Fannie and Freddie have given to democratic politicians are easy to get as well. And the lawsuits about discrimination are over the top. 28% of loans must be to low-income? How do you define low-income and is there 28% of the country that is low-income or is that an inflated percentage so that more of the Fannie/Freddie loans are made? Whenever you force American business to do things that use poor business practices you run the risk of ruining the whole system. I just hope we can recover.
